Qbertzelious
Hi! When launching Witcher 3 through Launchbox GOG Galaxy doesn't track play time and achievements. Anybody know a way to get GOG Galaxy to track? Thank you!

Anybody know a way to get GOG Galaxy to track? Thank you! Unfortunately im gonna say that is a game specific issue. The Witcher 3 is DRM free, even when purchased directly from GOG, which means it can be launched at any time without using the GOG client. Which is what i feel is happening here, the game is being launched via its shortcut or .exe, and GOG Galaxy has no idea about it. In fact im guessing you will run into the same issue with any GOG games as well, if its not launched from there client, then its not tracked.
Qbertzelious
Thank you neil9000! You are wrong though. I've found a way. To make GOG Galaxy track time even when the game is launched through Launchbox you put this in the shortcut in Launchbox (in this example I'm running Witcher 3): Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\GalaxyClient.exe Application Command-Line Parameters: /command=runGame /gameId=1495134320 /path="G:\Games\GoG\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\bin\x64\witcher3.exe" Also make sure to put this in under Additional Apps: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\GalaxyClient.exe And set it to automatically run before main application. If I don't set this GOG Galaxy crashes for some reason.

As i said as you were just launching the game.exe so GOG Galaxy wasn't aware the game had been run. What you are doing there is launching the GOG Galaxy client and having that then launch the game, so yes of course that will then track just fine as its launched through the GOG Galaxy client. That was my original point as the client wasn't launching the game, game time wasn't tracked. Glad you figured out a solution though.

PeterFromM
I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but I got here through Google, so I'm guessing other people may too. How do you figure out the gameId that you need in the command line parameter? It does not seem to be displayed anywhere. Qbertzelious
Hi PeterFromM! I'm sorry. You got me stumped. I found the ID of Witcher 3 from the shortcut created by GoG on the desktop during installation. I can't seem to find any info on where to find this info for other games. I'll look around though! Palandrose: Sorry I missed your question all together. I'll look for a solution though. Peace!
Qbertzelious
Alright I found a file in the games folder. For "The Plague Tale" the name of the file is "goggame-1901367087.info". In this you can find the game-ID. "gameId": "1901367087". I'll see if I can make one for CyberPunk 2077.
Qbertzelious
So here's what to do: Find the game ID in the game folder. There's usually an info file there. For CyberPunk 2077 here's what to do: Edit the game in Launchbox. Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\GalaxyClient.exe Application Command-Line Parameters: /command=runGame /gameId=1423049311 /path="G:\Games\GoG\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\Cyberpunk2077.exe" Also make sure to put this in under Additional Apps: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\GalaxyClient.exe And set it to automatically run before main application. If I don't set this GOG Galaxy crashes for some reason. Use your own paths to the software of course! Good luck!
C-Beats
Curious why you are needing to add GOG Galaxy as an emulator instead of simply using the GOG importer and turning on the option to launch GOG games through the client inside of LaunchBox
Qbertzelious
I didn't even know this existed. I think it didn't when I first asked the question. I'll look for this!
Qbertzelious
Wow! This feature got implemented in the 10.10 release. 4 days after my question. I'll run the process now! Thank you C-Beats!
