I'm very sorry if i sound like i'm fed up with Launchbox.

I really reallly really don't understand the way to sort the playlists/platforms bu checking/unchecking the parent under editing, And it makes Launchbox crash if you make a mistake.

I'm trying to make a simple list like this :

↓All

↓Consoles

↓Nintendo Console

↓Nintendo Entertainment System (USA)

↓Nintendo Hacked

But when i import a new platform, It gets duplicated to also appear between consoles and nintendo consoles, And i only want it to appear under Nintendo Entertainment System (USA).

Am i Importing the roms the wrong way??, I manually add the new platform "Nintendo (Hacked) and choose "Nintendo Entertainment System (USA) as it's parent so that it gets placed below that list.

Make sure you are in Platform Catergorys mode first. Then right click consoles and choose Add >New Category, and name it "Nintendo Consoles".

Now just do the same process again but starting with a right click edit on Nes and add the hacks to that and make sure in the parents tab its checked to show under "Nintendo Consoles --> Nintendo Entertainment System"

As for this, we will need more info than "it doesnt work".

Thank's a lot , Now i get it. I was doing it the opposite way (Just punch me).

I got it up and running again, But all my settings are completely gone (Including all the backups).

The problem i faced was that when i unchecked parent options in the playlists, Launchbox would crash to desktop and when i launched it again it would crash  again as soon as i choose the "Platform Category option".

But this time it completely crashed and would not launch again at all, But after the 3 reverting it suddenly launched again, But with everything gone.

Check that you didnt install Launchbox inside of the Launchbox folder. We see this all the time when users re-install a older version, they install it inside of the Launchbox folder and not over the top of it. Re-installing over the top does not delete your data, so thats my guess here.

That was exactly my problem, Installed the previous version in A:/Launchbox/Launchbox (1 to many).

But now i'm back at square one with a launchbox that won't launch due to my experimentation with unchecking/checking the parents in the playlist.

Is there any hope that i could edit something in Launchbox's ini file, Is it safe to delete the xml files in playlists/platforms ????.
