Missing PS2 games when using "San for Added Roms"

I'm working on setting up LaunchBox for the first time. I have 5855 Playstation 2 games in a folder, but the scanner only picks up 2714 of them. I've validated these roms with Romulus and a Redump DAT file. I can add a rom that was missed with the Import function, but I'm trying to figure out why the scanner doesn't pick it up.

On the Ready to Import screen after scanning if I sort by the "File" column I can see that the first game is "Dengeki...", even though I have hundreds of games from A-C (and alphanumeric) that it's missing, likewise the last game is "Nickelodeon...", so it's missing everything from O-Z.

I've included a screenshot showing the Ready to Import screen after scanning and my Windows folder showing it's missing games above "Dengeki".

This is a network share on a Synology NAS for what that's worth.

I tried using the Import function and used Windows search to select every *.iso file, and when I tried that I get this error below.

I opened a Powershell prompt and it looks like that file is Hisshou Pachinko Pachi-Slot Kouryaku Series Vol. 5 - CR Shin Seiki Evangelion 2nd Impact & Pachi-Slot Shin Seiki Evangelion (Japan).iso .

Is this an issue with the length of the name?

That might just be it. Windows can't handle files that have a too long path-name (not only file name). I've had to rename some files that had a too long file name. Just try it out.

Also, 5855  games? Wow, I wonder how much space that takes up.

I believe I found the solution. Windows 10 can get around this limitation, but for some reason it's not enabled by default.

The registry key HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem LongPathsEnabled (Type: REG_DWORD) must exist and be set to 1. The key's value will be cached by the system (per process) after the first call to an affected Win32 file or directory function (see below for the list of functions). The registry key will not be reloaded during the lifetime of the process. In order for all apps on the system to recognize the value of the key, a reboot might be required because some processes may have started before the key was set.

I changed that registry key to '1' and rebooted, and LaunchBox is seeing all of my files now. Romulus sees the files as well.

Well I guess I was wrong, I'm seeing the error again importing games. It seemed like it worked after that first reboot, but not any more. I verified the regkey is still enabled.

This seems like a HUGE problem with PC-8801 games. Naming the files from the DATs I end up with paths like "F:\ROMS\pc-8801\Sorcerian Tsuika Scenario Vol. 3 - Pyramid Sorcerian (Falcom)-Sorcerian Tsuika Scenario Vol. 3 - Pyramid Sorcerian [FD]\Sorcerian Tsuika Scenario Vol. 3 - Pyramid Sorcerian (Disk 1).d88"

If I can't get LaunchBox to work with these names I'll have to edit the DAT files to truncate the names. :(

As I newbie here I have never succeeded in importing and running some PS2 homebrew/freeware games such as found. I have tried almost everything but still cannot figure it out. If anyone have a good YT tutorial about importing homebrew games in LaunchBox (Windows 7) please give an advice. I would be more than grateful. Thank you in advance!
