beecue
I'm using Snes9x and Retroarch and have enabled fast forward and rewind features in the Retroarch configuration. When in games, I can fast forward just fine but the rewind seems to be causing the game to crash into a 'Game Over' launcbox screen. Any idea what is causing this it is driving me nuts! Any chance you have Rewind in Retroarch mapped to the same button/button combo you set in LaunchBox as the exit command?
beecue
I thought that was possible too but I mapped rewind to multiple buttons and it exits if I use the default 'r' on keyboard or L3 on xbox controller. Just to be sure, where do I check launchbox hotkeys? If it is under options and controller I have 'Exit' mapped to [None] Edited March 19, 2020 by beecue
Retro808
Check >Tolls>Options then under Game Controller yu will see Mapping.

neil9000
Just to check, is the emulator actually crashing as im guessing not? I think you are just seeing the the Launchbox shutdown screen, which can happen if the emulator loses focus and therefore Launchbox thinks it has been closed and shows the "game over" screen. So i would check that as well.

So I'm pretty sure what you said is correct that the emulator is probably closing and launchbox is likely just displaying the 'Game Over' because it detects the emulator is not running any longer. Are you familiar with what could potentially be causing this crash in Snes9x for the rewind feature? I've looked in a few places and I can't find anyone referencing this kind of issue. Thanks! beecue
Figured it out all, It was the Retroarch core that needed to be updated. I had to uninstall and reinstall Retroarch to reinstate a better core because updating just the core was next to impossible given the version I was running. -Bill
