huh123
I'm looking to import the video/cover art/etc. for a game that is on Steam, but was not imported via the mass Steam updater (as the game would not show up/import via that). Is this possible?

Is this possible? The built in scraper uses the steam app ID in order to match the game and acquire the artwork, so if you didnt use the steam importer then you cant scrape it. You can however try this plugin.

Is this possible? Only built in way would be to manually add an additional app that uses the steam launch url as if you HAD imported it via Steam import, then import media (you could then delete the app)

I would rather have the game import directly from Steam, but for some reason it just won't be detected when I run a Steam import...any reason why that might be? C-Beats
We use Steams API to grab your library. Due to copyright, trademark, and other legal stuff some titles in your library may NOT be allowed to be retrieved from the API and because of that LaunchBox can't see them to import them. I can't say for certain that is what is causing it but it is a possibility. You can manually add the game if you get the steam app id, the app path is the same for all steam games except that id number.

That may be the reason. Could you explain the manual add via app id? Like how I go about that? I originally added this game by drag/dropping the exe into Launchbox. But I'd love to pull it more directly, especially since it has Steam achievements which I'd like to see.
C-Beats
For LaunchBox the Application Path just needs set to "steam://rungameid/253230" (excluding quotes) where that last number is the games app id. If the store page of the game still exists you will find the app id in the url (for example, https://store.steampowered.com/app/237930/Transistor/ the app id you need is the number "237930"). A Steam app ID is ALWAYS numeral, if you see a letter in it you have the wrong thing. Once you add that path to LaunchBox if you play via LaunchBox it will either launch the game in Steam if installed, or bring up the install prompt if it isn't. Once you have the ID, just press the Add button on the bottom bar (there are other ways as well). This will bring up a blank Add/Edit game form. Just put that launch path as the application path and set the title. Unfortunately the only way I've been able to find the Steam ID for something no longer with a store page is to install it and make a desktop shortcut for it and then look at the path Steam generates for it. There are some other really technical ways of finding some of the stuff out but it involves looking at some local SQLite DB files and browsing your registry.
