superbike81
I'm setting up LaunchBox now (premium version) and everything has been going well. But I've still got several thousand more games to load in and the combination of box art and videos from Emumovies is really taking up space faster than I expected. How can I change the default directory for where this data is stored? For reference, my LaunchBox directory is on my main OS SSD, all of the ROMS are stored on a separate HDD, and then I have another 250GB SSD empty that would be perfect for storing more images and video for Launchbox. Thanks! Edited April 29, 2020 by superbike81

Thanks! You can move the image and video folders elsewhere, but you would need to manually point Launchbox to each media folder for every platform one by one. You can do this under Tools/Manage Platforms/Folders tab.

Thanks! Might be quicker and easier to just move the Video folder, they will be taking up most of the space, and you would only need to change one location per platform. DeadVoivod
Wouldn’t it be easier just editing the xml files? Edited April 30, 2020 by DeadVoivod

Yeah you can do that also, but as a moderator i tend to not tell people to edit there files, for obvious reasons, and especially if there is a way to do it in the UI. If you go that route just back everything up first.
DeadVoivod
That’s true neil. Could be a more “dangerous” task. Makes sense to just not give that hint.

Yup i do tell people to edit files as a last resort, but if there is a UI interface to do what they want to do that is always my first recommendation. DeadVoivod
Basically that’s exactly how I did it the first time, found it to be cumbersome after editing 2 entries, thought there might be another, faster, way to do it, and whilst searching a bit, I stumbled across the xml files. Jackpot ? Best way when renaming f.ex. hundreds of ROM extensions, like bin to iso, or smc to sfc.
