Rsmith3533
Everything was working well with my Sanwa joysticks on my build. 4-way games were a little frustrating however, so I decided to add an Ultrastik 360 to my build. It is connected via USB and all my other buttons/joystick are connected via a IPAC ultimate. I'm using LEDBlinky, which seems to be working as far as lighting the right controls. I cannot get it to load any maps as far as 8 way/4 way, etc. I'm also getting the "jump to letter" menu in BigBox without even touching anything. I've tried changing the joystick dead zone in Mame.ini but it doesn't seem to have any affect on that menu coming up during the attract mode in Big Box. I have loaded maps for the U360 in Ultramap and opened Mame directly and it works correctly, but once in Launchbox/Big Box the joystick doesn't load the correct map. Any help would be appreciated - I'd really like to get this joystick to work, especially for 4-way games. Thank you.
Rsmith3533
I reached out to Andy at Ultimarc about the issue of the jump to letter menu frequently opening up on its own. His response is that the Ultrastik doesn't have a deadzone, that it is handled by Mame. Has anyone else had this issue or found a workaround? It really takes away from the Bigbox experience. Drybonz
I have an Ultrastik, but I don't use BigBox so I've never noticed the problem... but if Ultimarc is telling you that, then probably your only hope would be a 3rd party software that somehow emulates a deadzone... I don't know of anything like that but maybe you can google something up.
kmoney
Do you have enable game controllers just checked in the BigBox options menu or do you have also have use all controllers checked as well? I have found that the ipac ultimate and the ultrastiks together do not like use all controllers checked.
Rsmith3533
Thanks Drybonz. I have really been scouring google but haven't found anything unfortunately.

Unchecked it per your suggestion, and so far it seems as that was my problem. Thank you so much kmoney! This had been driving me crazy!
kmoney
Great, glad that solved your problem. I have been messing with my Ultrastiks a lot lately trying to get them dialed in. Did you get your problem solved with LEDBLINKY not sending the maps correctly as well?
Drybonz
Thanks, kmoney... I'm sure that is good info for all Ultrastik owners.

Unfortunately no, that's still a work in progress. LED Blinky announces the controls and lights the corresponding buttons, but the maps don't seem to change. Have you had any success with the mapping?
kmoney
I have had some success with getting them to map correctly with Ledblinky but it seem it is hit or miss. I have been having an issue with the ultrastiktest.exe that is included with ledblinky when I run it. It is detecting 3 ultrastiks connected even though I only have 2 so it does not send the maps correctly. I thought I had figured it out with some third party software that was causing the issue but the problem seems to be back again. I had better success when I was using Rocketlauncher to send the maps to the joysticks but have since moved on from Rocketlauncher. I really like the ultrastiks and there ability to send maps to the games but I have had numerous issues and I am getting tired of dealing with them truthfully and just want to play games when I turn my arcade cabinet on than deal with issues. I will probably retire them for a while and just get some simpler IL Eurojoysticks and put in my cabinet.
Rsmith3533
I've heard other people have had success with Rocketlauncher, but don't think I want to add it to my build. I'll keep at it until it becomes too frustrating, or I finally get a breakthrough.
