Messed up Launchbox launcher and will not load

Hello.  I messed up my main version of Launchbox and am now getting the following errors (In Windows Event Viewer) when I open the Launchbox exe:

Launchbox exe.  will not open.  I tried

• sfc /scannow which did not work. 
• Copied settings.xml from backup into Data folder.  did not work.
• All of my folders are still in Launchbox. 

I have another instance of Launchbox on the same computer (just for DOS games) and that one launches fine.

Hi @Charlielorentz,

Are you able to try and install LaunchBox over your current broken instance of LaunchBox and see if that makes any difference?

Do you remember doing anything specific that may have caused LaunchBox to get messed up?

I copied a launchbox.exe from another folder into the broken version and it would not run.

I tried reinstalling the same launchbox version from the Updates folder. (Moved the set up into the launchbox folder and ran it.)  It opened but had no games, settings etc.  Looked like a brand new instance.

I was going to try and restore from a backup version, but am waiting for advice  

I accidently hit the uninstall file, then cancelled it.

then you installed into the folder, not over the top.

I deleted the launchbox.exe and installed the same version of Launchbox, as I had previously, over the top.  

It works now!  Thanks again.
