Neo Geo not starting

Hi folks. Having issues with Neo Geo starting with Retroarch from inside LB. It runs fine with just Retroarch. My bios files seem to be in the right place, because Neo Geo will launch outside of LB. I also have logging turned on, which shows almost nothing. I even changed the cores of Retroarch inside LB to many different things. No Luck. Any ideas please.

My guess off of that limited information, you have your Retroarch entry in Launchbox set to extract roms before launch, that will break all arcade roms as they need to remain zipped.

If that's not the case can you provide some images of your emulator setup screens in Launchbox.

OMG. that worked. Thanks so much

OK, so yeah all arcade systems need that option off. If that is going to interfere with other platforms that do need unzipping first id recommend adding a second Retroarch entry to Launchbox, so call one Retroarch and one Retroarch Arcade for example, you can point them both to the same Retroarch.exe, but this will allow you to set different options for them in Launchbox.

OK, if anyone else has this issue, go into Manage Emulators.  Scroll down to NeoGeo, and you'll probably see the core of 'fpa_libretto' or something.  Change that to 'fbalpha_2012_arcade' or whatever (sorry, not at my system).  I did also change it to not extract the files, as the other helpful commenters suggested, but that didn't do the trick.  It kinda seems like, on install, LB picks a bad core for the config.

Good luck!
