Couple marquee questions. :)

How do I update or change the marquees for the systems? Not for the games, but when you are going through the systems currently Al my images for my marquee are super tiny basic system image that sits in the middle of my 4:1 marquee lcd screen. I’d like to update them to better more fitting images but can’t find them anywhere.  where do they live at?

 

also how do we use animated marquees and where is a good source for them?

The default location for platform level default images is here:

..\LaunchBox\Images\Platforms\

or can do it through the LB interface via Edit Platform and adding image/changing type in right pane.  

You can then substitute whatever image you want as the banner for that platform.  

You should check your image priorities as well to make sure they are in order you want them to be:

As to active marquees, the theme has to support that and there have been some recent improvements to marquee support with newer LB versions (12.7).  Unified Refried supports video marquees directly (may be others, didn't look).  This plugin mods themes to allow animated marquees as well:  ( EDIT: see comment by Retro808 on support in new versions)

A search in the download section will bring up some user created marquees. Example:

The steps Sundogak gave are correct and concise. More accurately, to mention though, the platform marquee images go in the \Images\Platforms\[Platform Name]\Banner folder.

To use any animated marquee file that is a video you simply need to add the video file to the \Videos\[Platform Name]\Marquee folder. Name it exactly as your platform is named.

If you are on a current version of LB by default the coding will use the new BB marquee functions which will show a marquee video if present and fallback to images if no video present. Custom themes do not actually have to support this. You also do not need a plugin. Most theme creators do not create a custom PlatformMarqueeView.xaml and GameMarqueeView.Xaml. As such, the team has coded BB to use the default logic when a theme does not have a custom view for marquees present. If a theme does have a custom view for marquees and it currently does not support videos there is a setting in BB options to override this. \Options\Marquee Screen >Ignore Marquee Theme View.

So you simply need to follow the recommendations above with adding your images and setting your image priorities.

that thread/download you linked to however seems broken. It says 7GB but it always stops at 4 something and the zip says unexpended end of file
