kimlaughton
It would be great if Playstation 1 games could have a serial number field in their metadata (eg SLPS 02422) This is a super easy and accurate way to identify a game even when an english translation may be incorrect.
C-Beats
There are several fields that can be used like Source, or Version (though depending on how the rom is named you'll need to put it there yourself). You could also use a custom field to store that information if you are using the premium version of LaunchBox.
Belgarath
I'd probably recommend using the status field because LaunchBox allows you to set different ones for additional versions/discs, which (as far as I know), you can't do with version/source or custom fields. Perhaps being able to add custom fields to additional versions etc could be implemented in the future though?
kimlaughton
Ah I see - I suppose if it was an existing or custom field everyone would need to agree on the same one to use for it to be much use? I'm new to LaunchBox and haven't gone much further than PS1 games yet - do all systems share the same database fields?
