Trying to find out if LB/BB can solve my input problems With PC games as well as my exiting problems with MAME games on my homemade Arcade.

I made my own Arcade and I'm using BB because it's quick and easy, but I'm having trouble with PC games. I asked around Reddit a little bit but it's more often unhelpful than helpful. First ting is when I load up a PC game, almost every game has the same button in different spots. For example, I set up my buttons to match my HORI arcade stick (8-buttons). I used Jitsu Squad and set up my buttons according to that. Now when I fire up MK11 or SoR4, My A button is in the right place, but my X,Y, and B buttons are all rotated counter-clockwise if that makes sense. For other games like Blade Strangers A and B are switched with X and Y, Start and Back(Coin) are where RT and LT should be. It's really irritating and makes no sense.

Another Problem is Figuring out which USB port is player 1-4. It seems like the keyboard overrides many PC games as player 1, and my arcade player 1 side is joy 2 or 3, especially on fighting (Arcsys) games. Not as annoying as the above problem, but still a little annoying.

Another thing is when I exit a MAME game (I programmed one of my Arcade buttons to do this), BB is unresponsive until I click my left mouse button. The only thing I can think of that BB isn't coming back to being the active widow once MAME closes. Is there any way anyone can think of to fix this? Only MAME has this problem, PC games and all my other emulators exit just fine.

Lastly, a bonus question. I cannot navigate the UI of Tekken 7 with my arcade stick. I have to use the arrow keys on the keyboard. Has anyone else dealt with setting this up. My ultimate goal is to make this as easy as possible for my kids (4 and 7) to use. Thanks in advance to any answers that can be provided.

On my cab I run x360ce to create a virtual xbox controller that I can can remap my physical controller to depending on what app I'm on. So my buttons map to different xinput controls based on whether I'm in BB, Mame, or one of my PC games. It gives me a lot of control that I couldn't have with just the game/emulator input settings. There are other apps you can do to map your joystick inputs to keyboard inputs as well which could potentially solve your Tekken issue. Just place what ever apps you want to use like in Windows startup folder (or if they have "Start app on computer start up" setting turn that on) and you should be good to go.

Regarding BB not getting focus I don't have any quick answers for you as I personally don't have this problem. I've seen some people have this issue if they changed startup/pause screen settings from default, but it's been a minute since I've helped troubleshoot that issue. Perhaps some one who recently corrected that issue will chime in to give ya some assistance with that.

Losing focus to Big Box usually means there's another application pulling focus away that you may not be aware of. I've seen users get programs like Windows Focus Logger to help deduce the process that's pulling focus away so you can deal with it. I've also seen AHK scripts, and even a plugin, that can bandaid over the issue and force Big Box to regain focus.

Both can potentially help your situation out.

Here's some threads that you could read about it:

Thank you. I'll look into this further when I have some time.

@C-Beats I got x360ce to work once, then it stopped working for some reason. I followed some tutorials but each is slightly different and doesn't always have the right answer. Any Suggestions on tutorials you used or like? (Haven't solved my Tekken 7 problem yet, and I can't get Dead or Alive 6 to work with controllers either, which a known issue that x360ce should also be able to fix)

Well I THINK I figured part of this out. I ran Xoutput along side x360ce and now everything is magically working again. I even Got Tekken 7's UI to work with the Josystick and got Dead or Alive 6 to recognize them as well.
