starfiretbt
I'm having trouble with my save files in retroarch through LaunchBox. I'm playing a playstation game with 3 cd's, I'm on the second cd. If I try saving the game through the usual game save feature (not a save state) while on disc 2 the save won't stay. This only happens when I start the game on disc one (the first disc is the one set up to launch through Launchbox) and switch to disc 2 using retroarch. If I start the game on disc two by right clicking on the game and select "play version/disc 2" then I can save and load saved games during disc 2 so this isn't a serious problem. I believe the problem has to do with the fact that playstation games save using memory cards which the emulator mimics with a file that is disc specific so if I start disc 1 then I can only use the memory card file associated with that disc. My problem is that I think the file that is associated with game saving isn't set up right because like I said I have to start with the right disc to use the right saving file. While I can live with just starting the game on disc 2 what I can't live with is recently when I tried to save the game it said it wanted to reformat the save file and wouldn't let me save or load until I did. When I did I lost all my save files. How do I set up the file for memory cards in a playstation game with multiple discs properly? I can't even access the second memory card, there's supposed to be 2 which I can use under disc 1 but not disc 2.
starfiretbt
Never-mind, I got it fixed. Some people on retroarch discord were able to help me set up a .m3u file that combined a 3 disc playstation game into 1 using this guide https://docs.libretro.com/library/beetle_psx/#multiple-disk-games. I also found a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_1xR_Y1TNg.
