Are you talking about while in game?

Hi yes this happens when I run the games. ZX Spectrum games if it makes a difference.

It's not a LaunchBox thing.  What emulator are you using?

If it's MAME, press the Tab key, then try your other keys.

I'm using retroarch. I've pressed all the keys only a few work and none of them allow you to control the game character.

You need to open the emulator and map your keys for the in game controls. All in game actions are mapped in each emulator directly. This is not a LB function.

Thanks. I've tried that and yes it's alreadt set up as xbox one controller in port 1 retroarch. The controller works fine on the windows games I have on launchbox. It's really weird.
