Changing controls in n64 changes controls on all platforms

I am new to launch box but I’m using big box and when I go into a game and select open retroarch instead of play and then go into settings then input it changes the mapped buttons for all consoles. Is there a way to just set it for n64 without changing the other consoles?

Save your changes per directory, so you have your own standards for each system. There are definitely other ways such as saving the data per core or per game.

Settings/input is the global settings, you dont want that. Load a rom in the core you want to change and enter the quick menu, scroll down to controls, then port 1, change however you like, backup one menu and save, do either a core or content directory based on your needs.
