mikejoe
Hi, Does anyone know what is the command line in MAME to start Mikrosha-86RK game? MAME support this machine and load but I don't know what to type to start the game. Check screen shot below please. I tried "RUN" and "EXEC" and some other commands with no luck. JoeViking245
Doesn't look like you loaded a cassette. From the Command Prompt, you'd [probably] type mame.exe mikrosha -cass alambush That would start MAME with the cassette for Alien Ambush. Next, you'd need to "Load" the cassette [into memory]. Press Scroll-Lock to get out of the emulated keyboard, then press F2 to Load the cassette. You should hear some nasty sounds (kind of like the old modems) and see a loading count-down (or count-up) timer. Wait until that's done, and they game might then load. I say 'probably', 'should' and 'might' because I haven't tested it. But that's the general process for other cassette systems. Note that Mikrosha and Radio-86RK are 2 separate systems, with the prior being a clone of the latter.

I tried as you suggested (for both Mikrosha and Rasio-86RK systems), I heard the sound until is fully completed and then nothing happened. spycat
Whether you launch a Mikrosha-86RK game directly from MAME or through LaunchBox you will arrive at a screen with a Russian prompt. At the prompt type I and press Return. Enable the MAME UI controls. Press F2 to play the tape. Disable the MAME UI Controls. When the tape has finished playing, type G at the Russian prompt and press Return to open and play the game.

I followed your steps as suggested, but on the step where I pressed G and then hit enter, the screen stays as the following with cursor blinking: I tried your steps with both systems (Mikrosha and m86rk) and both do the same. spycat
@mikejoe That's odd, unless the Mikrosha clones are different. I have the parent Radio-86RK and the clone Apogee BK-01 installed and they both work fine in LaunchBox. Mind you there are some games that fail, but overall they're ok. It's late here now, after midnight, so tomorrow I'll source the Mikrosha stuff and test it out and get back to you.
spycat
@mikejoe The Radio-86RK and Apogee software lists (radio86_cass and apogee) work fine in MAME, but I could not get the Mikrosha software list (mikrosha_cass) to work properly. I'm on latest MAME 0.258, so maybe the softlist I sourced is outdated or just bad. I was able to get non software list Mikrosha games to work using the I and G keys method, see pics for the game Alien Ambush (USSR).rkm

I tried the latest Mame 0.258 and redownloaded radio86_cass and it seems somewhat is working now. Some games such as Alien Ambush and Liquid Sky are working and some are not. I guess I need to redownload the games again too. All is good.
