Reaper978
After migrating a large amount of content to a different drive (bad idea) certain games won't scrape. See "Addometer Calculator" below There's plenty of other games that are blank too. It's a MAME Arcade Full Set btw. I've tried deleting all the games and re-importing. I've tried scraping one of the blank ones with everything checked, still nothing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling LaunchBox. I don't know if there's actually a solution to this problem. Maybe it's just a bug in LaunchBox? Thanks for reading.
JayK2K
I've got a similar issue posted here... Can you verify the same or similar behavior if you add the files manually as what I'm experiencing?

See "Addometer Calculator" below Addometer Calculator may not be the best example to share. It's neither a game nor is it in the database. But I understand it's just an example. 39 minutes ago, Reaper978 said: I've tried scraping one of the blank ones with everything checked Sounds like you used Tools - Download - Update Metadata... for scraping the one of the blank games. Instead, (for now, to do some checking) try editing the game and click Search for Metadata. (assuming there isn't a LaunchBox DB ID # there already) Once there's an ID # there, go to the Images section (lower down on the left panel), then click Download Media. In the window that opens up will be the checkboxes for the available images for that game. If no checkboxes appear, then there're no images for it in the database. If you have an EmuMovies account and set it up in LaunchBox, you can click the EmuMovies tab (near the top) and get images from there as well. Reaper978
Here's a better example JayK2K, what do you mean by adding the files manually? JoeViking245, I tried what you said with Akazukin, one of the blank games. It already had a LaunchBox DB ID #. I scraped some images under Media -> Images. Here's what I have: Unfortunately the game is still blank. I really like LaunchBox and Big Box so hopefully we can figure out something. EDIT: Ok, I downloaded images for another blank game, Alpha One, THIS time, the game is no longer blank. An odd thing about it though is that it only seems to want to download every check box under Media -> Images so I went ahead and deleted the images I didn't want. I hope this gives you some clues as to what to do Edited November 30, 2023 by Reaper978
Retro808
If there are images in the media image tabs but not showing on the game list display it could be due to the image type you have selected to show in LB preview there is not one for that image type for the game. Example: I can you see have you images set to show Box-3D. If the game does not have a Box-3D image downloaded it will be left blank (you will see the gray box). What you can do in these cases is set a fallback option. In LB tools you will see "Image Priorities". In those sections you can set alternate image types to show if a game is missing the main image type. This way game boxes will not be left gray, LB will try to fill the void. If the game does have an image for the image type but it is still not showing try hitting F5 to reset the image cache. With regards to DoDonPachi III I am not sure what is going on. The game is in the Games DB but when you scrape for it the data is only pulling an alternate name of ddp3. You can select that and it will download images and then change the name to correctly show the full game name.
Reaper978
Retro808, you nailed it! I scraped only the necessary graphics and set up Image Priorities. Every game that I’ve seen, and I’ve looked through quite a few, is now appearing correctly. Thank you everyone for your input and giving me the tools I need to get it all working correctly! 👍👍😎
