Help with repair/rebuild of arcade - bigbox

Hi yall!

Purchased an all-in-one arcade box with 5,000+ games off etsy in 2020. Did not turn out so well, but a few games on it worked - street fighter and virtua fighter. It's a poorly built case. The i5/6500 8gb PC with a 1050ti still works, but launchbox/bigbox no longer works.

I've got a newer faster PC with a better video card i'd like to move everything to and get it back up and running, while working on the arcade frame to improve it's deficiencies. Not really sure where to start, but i'm trying to reverse engineer whats installed on this box now - so far i have:

install launchbox
    https://www.launchbox-app.com/
install vigembus -
    https://github.com/nefarius/ViGEmBus/releases
install yuzu - switch emulator
    https://yuzu-emu.org/
install UCR - search snoothy
    https://github.com/Snoothy/UCR
install usbhelperlauncher - wii games
    https://www.cfwaifu.com/wiiu-usbhelper/
x360ce
    https://www.x360ce.com/

My current question is - i searched the drive for .roms and i dont see any, but they were in launchbox/bigbox before. Is there anyway to migrate those games over to a newer version of bigbox? And, if i move it will i have licensing issues?

sorry for the wall of text, i'm interested but confused at the moment.

thanks!

ok, so looking at this a little more - looks like it came with Reyann/Easyget joystick controllers and some combination of UCR and vigembus to map the joysticks.

Are these ok controllers? I've been reading up/watching videos on controllers, and the IPAC controllers look nice - I'm trying to get enough information to determine if the controllers/software I have is sufficient (or desirable) or if i should swap out for new controllers. I haven't been able to get the old ones to map on the new system, and documentation seems light.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you got a mess. Most people won’t help knowing you bought a preconfigured drive. My guess is it would take to long to try and explain what to do for every problem you’re probably going to run into like not knowing where your roms/games are. I use an iPac for my cabinet but also use Xbox controllers for some other systems  like PlayStation and GameCube. I don’t need any other software this way. If I was you I would honestly start over. Your Launchbox license might not be legit so I would purchase your own. Worse case if it is legit, supporting these guys again is definitely a good thing. Launchbox is so easy to set up now you would be learning the basics starting over.  I also use Retroarch a lot to be able to use my Arcade buttons or controllers if I feel like kicking back. Good luck

hey, thanks for the reply, I am starting over - only going to reuse the cabinet - got a new PC and a new download of Launchbox. I'm just stuck on mapping the Joysticks to a keyboard or controller for use in launchbox.

I'll get new ROMs for launchbox, there's really only about 10 I want - SF2, virtua fighter and some mario games

If you mean navigating the interface it's done via the controller mapping menus in either map. If you mean the emulator you play those games in your need to do it there. If you're running into issues because your board outputs as a dinput device my recommendation is to use something like x360ce to translate to a virtual controller and then map all the apps to that virtual controller.
