Only had a chance to test real quick so far. The first time I exited a PC game there was no notification the game was ending so I thought that was removed and the game exited clean. The next few pc games I exited all through the game itself showed the game closing screen so maybe the first was a fluke. I’ll try and run my cabinet tomorrow for any crashes. The wheel feels really smooth just the start up seems a little laggy and I noticed it on 14 as well. The start up video is a tad laggy at first and my led blinky lights that change color are a bit laggy during this time but only during startup. LED blinky also now starts before the start up video begins to play. I’m running an i7 137k and Nvidia 3080 with 32 gb of ram.

Try the new beta just released. I think they mention this being fixed. I will be trying it soon.

Looks like there are quite a few PC games causing Bigbox and Launchbox to freeze after exiting according to the beta thread.

I just tried mine with the beta and the first launch there was a long black screen and I thought I would experience the same thing but then the game booted. Now everything seems to boot as normal. I know that doesn’t help you though but hope it gets figured out.

Not sure if this will help but found this worked for some - So i went to tools>manage>emulators, opened RetroArch , and unchecked the "Extract ROM archives before running", and... It worked.

I use 2 Xbox controllers sometimes but I’m pretty sure it’s crashed without me turning on the controllers. Could iPac’s and pac led’s be considered a controller as well? I also have a trackball and spinner.

Sorry I realize I copied the WMP file. Here are all the files requested with the most recent crash using VLC about an hour ago. Must have been a fluke the two times it worked because now when I exit with alt f4 Bigbox freezes and same with the Xbox controller when I try closing the active window.

Sorry yes if I use alt and f4 on my keyboard to close the game Launchbox regains focus and there is no problem. I can use select start on my controller to exit emulators but not for my pc games because I figured them the games wouldn’t be saved that way.

I just did that in launchbox and same thing. I noticed everything was frozen in Launchbox but I could still control my mouse cursor with my xbox controller but it was so laggy and slow. I had to control alt delete to get out of launchbox. I couldn't just hit hit X. If I close the game with alt f4 launchbox doesnt freeze?

Halo gets stuck in Launchbox also so its probably just the way the game is exiting?

Thanks Joe. I will try through Launchbox but yes this is a stand alone exe happening in Bigbox when I exit through the games menu. Forgot to mention when this game closes I don't see the new shut down screen in the latest beta saying something like exiting game I believe. It just goes to the wheel then freezes.

Sorry should’ve mentioned I’m running the newest beta. I guess I thought it was more of a problem with this games exit than the beat since all my other pc games exit fine.

Just like the title says. None of my other PC games causes Bigbox to freeze when exiting just this one. I go back to Bigbox when I exit through the game back to desktop but Bigbox is frozen. I tried clicking my mouse to regain focus but nothing works? Anyone else run into this or know a solution?

I can confirm the letters when scrolling sideways are missing in the scroll bar.

After some testing i can confirm videos are back to playing and the scrolling in Bigbox is smooth. The random crash still happens which confuses me. Using VLC I had my machine running Bigbox for 8-9 hours yesterday no problem. Today it ran for about 30 minutes and it crashed back to desktop running Bigbox. No changes were made in between both instances so I’m really confused what’s causing the crashes.

Just updated to the latest version and videos are playing again. I will run my machine for a while and check on the random crashes in Bigbox also. Thanks for the fix! ** is there a way to turn off the text on the loading and exit screen. This must be new. “Waiting for game to load”…..

Thanks Joe! Finally had time to do that and it worked. Videos are back to playing again.
