Automatic per-game bezel overlays in Retroarch

How do I get Retroarch to automatically apply the corresponding overlay for a game?

I have all the overlays installed. I can open a game, manually find the overlay for that game, and save a Game Override, but I can't figure out how to get them to apply automatically (by name). 

I tried deleting all my configs, enabling the overlay on the default config with no overrides, but now it's just blank. Also tried reinstalling Retroarch through LaunchBox. 

I read in another thread that unchecking  "Unpack ROM" was the solution, but I can't seem to find this setting.

Do your rom names exactly match the names of the overlays/bezel files?

What dragon57 mentioned is exactly what I've had to do to get certain bezels to work. There is something not consistent in rom name and bezel image name. This seems to be the most common issue.
