Launchbox deleting already imported items on new import

Hi guys,

I am an avid user of Launchbox and i simply love how it looks and works (my second year as a license holder) but now i have run into a problem that is perplexing me and making me worry a little.

I have all my game roms and things imported so i decided to set up a cartoon and comic book section.

Last night when i was importing some of my favorite old TV shows,  the first season of Ultraman, i noticed that when i import the shows, some of the ones i already have installed disappear in launchbox when i add a box front image (i used thumbnail.me for png thumbnails).

Example... I import all 13 episodes.

I place 13 thumbnails all names the same as the video in the images dir under launchbox.

I hit refresh in launchbox, and they show up... but a random episode is now deleted or missing....   lets say episode 1 8 and 13.

I go back, try to reimport the 1, 8, 13.... it says they are already there, but they dont show up... so i force import them...

1,,8,13 now sup up with the correct thumnails BUT a few more disappear.... Episode 2, 7, 10 for example.

Any idea what is causing this or how to fix it?

This bug has me worried as crap... i have around 60,000 roms, some platforms with hundreds and i have noticed that some games in my arcade mame section are missing... Pac-man for example..  i dont want to have to re-import items if its going to make others dissappear...

-----update----

Tried this....

imported all 13 and forced them in.   They all show up.

The second i try and add them to a playlist (to keep things organized) a few of them disappear again.

There is nothing wrong with my drive... and the files are still physically there, launchbox just doesnt show them even though they are imported (as i had to force import them to get them to show)

----------Second Update------

This is happening in other platforms as well... I just checked and watched some of my roms disappear from the list when i imported a new one.

It is also happening in other playlists especially....   different platform, but same result.  Import something... random items disappear, although launchbox says they are there and to get them back i have to force import duplicate, then something else disappears.

i am running the latest update by the way. 13.15

Reported issues of games disappearing is almost always caused by one of two things:

  1. You enabled an auto-hide setting and the game is now being hid (most of the time it's for games missing a certain media type)
  2. You have extra files in your \\LaunchBox\Data\Platforms folder that don't belong. Backup files in this folder cause issues and need to be kept somewhere else. You should only have one file per platform in that folder.

Woah.....   Maybe that was it... Just double checked the auto hide settings and "Hide games without video was turned on"  (I NEVER DID THIS) and when i checked it off, they started showing up.

Maybe a new glitch?

But TY btw 😃

I doubt it's a LaunchBox 'glitch'.  Maybe your cat walked across the keyboard and stepped on Ctrl+Shift+V.  ;)

Glad the 'glitch' is resolved!  :)
