superToto
Hello, I want to create a "Sega Megadrive" platform which would only have Europe games attached to it. So I added such platform, scraped as "Sega Genesis", since it is the generic name for Megadrive found in Launchbox. I imported the Europe only romset that I created, and chose to copy the files in the platform's folder. The issue is that the platform's rom folder points to "Games\Sega Megadrive" (cf screenshot taken from the platform edition UI) but the roms actually are in the "Games\Sega Genesis" folder (cf other screenshot). This seems like a bug to me. Or am I doing something wrong ?

Platform and what you select for Scraper are completely independent. LB prioritizes what the platform name is for folder selection. Thus, you have two options: go to the edit Platform "Game" entry and browse to your Sega Genesis folder. Easiest but could be confusing down road. LB will look there for any roms for that platform. rename your Sega Genesis folder to Sega Megadrive. You will have to relink games but I believe with the new auto import feature on it will do that. If not you will have to reimport so path matches. You could also manually edit the Platform XML but make sure you have use LB backup feature first. When importing the games, I chose the "copy files to platform folder" option, instead of "moving file ...", or "leaving files ...". Since the platform name is "Sega Megadrive", I would expect the roms to be copied in the "Games\Sega Megadrive" folder. Instead, it copied them to the "Sega Genesis" folder, despite showing the "Sega Megadrive" folder in the plaftorm config screen. Why did it copy them to the Genesis folder instead of the Megadrive folder? It is NOT what I told LB. And even if there was a logic to it, that I am missing, why does it say that the platform's roms folder is Megadrive when LB itself used the Geneis folder? I never let LB mess with my ROMs or move/copy so never use that feature. I only mentioned how you could fix the platform issue you described to adjust the rom folder path. Or as you say, maybe it’s best to not move/copy the roms at all. Still, I think this is a bug, which surprises me considering the maturity of the program. Retro808
Did you rename your main Launchbox folder? When LB runs the installer is names the root folder Launchbox. So typically your games would get copied to \Launchbox\Games\Sega Megadrive\. I notice in your Windows folder image you have yours named LaunchboxLG. Doubt that would cause an issue, but it is the only thing odd I see in your images/steps. Just tested following your steps and it moved the games to my Launchbox\Games\Sega Megadrive folder without issue.
superToto
Yes I renamed it with LG as you noticed. I will delete all platforms and files and try again as you did and see if I can reproduce. WIll let you know. Thanks for looking into it, I may be the one who messed up somewhere somehow.
