AndrewSpec Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 (edited) On the latest version there's a problem with rotation. I can't launch it on landscape. It crashes when it's loaded in portrait and I rotate it to landscape. Also it's very annoying that it's reloading the whole UI when screen is rotated. There should be an option to choose in what rotation it should be started and lock the app on that rotation. Edited December 31, 2024 by AndrewSpec Quote
AstroBob Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Hey, thanks for the report. We weren't able to reproduce the exact behaviour you're describing, but we've been fixing a few things under the hood that may in-directly impact this. We should have a new version of the app out very soon. When that version is released, could you please see if the issue persists and let us know? If it is still happening, can you please let us know what device you are using this on and which version of Android it's running? Cheers, Quote

I just updated to the newest beta and now it's not crashing but the UI is missing all emelents and gets a new green top bar. 23 hours ago, AstroBob said: can you please let us know what device you are using this on and which version of Android it's running? AstroBob Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Hi there, Thanks for giving that a try and reporting this issue. That's very strange, as I know a lot of our users are running S2 Ultra's but haven't seen anything like this yet. I'm curious, as a test would it be possible to confirm if this happens on a fresh install of the app? I'd love to know if there's something in your specific data, or a larger issue that is causing this. Please let me know and we'll get you sorted. Cheers, Quote
AndrewSpec Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 I've tested it on a fresh install and still the same problem. I tried to change themes but on every I've tested it's not working. But on the platform view on rotation it has that grwen bar but on the game list view it crashes. Quote
faeran Posted January 9 Posted January 9 If you know where your LaunchBox folder is on your device, can you use a files app to rename it temporarily, then open LaunchBox. If done right, it will act as a brand new install. Let us know if you are seeing the same thing or not. Quote
AndrewSpec Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 I've done that 😉 on startup LB created a new folder but still with the same problem. Quote
AndrewSpec Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 I've updated to the latest beta and still the problem exists. This time there is a workaround to restore the screen with the list of platforms by entering the view with options and reversing - then it reloads the main screen (which it does not do when changing orientation). That sucks. Definitely a weird and rare issue. Why it's only happening so consistently on your device, not sure. We've attempted to recreate it across 10 different device types, including a few Samsung devices but still haven't been able to. Do you know if you have any forced override settings turned on in your Galaxy's settings. Maybe a developer option, or something that tries to override the normal operation of an app to force a particular state to happen that isn't native to the application itself? Quote
AndrewSpec Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I tried that on another device - my old Xiaomi Mi 11 and have the same problem. I start with a clean installation. So on Galaxy S24 Ultra I have Android 14 API level 34 (OneUI 6.1) and on Mi 11 it's also Android 14 with API level 34 (HyperOS 1.0). Edited 3 hours ago by AndrewSpec Quote
