nagymarci Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM Hello, I was redirected here from the bug report page. Here's my issue: Sometimes, when I import some games, and reopen launchbox afterwards, those entries are just gone. A common aspect of them, is that they’re not automatically imported, instead I have to type in all the metadata. I was told to check \Launchbox\Data\Platforms folder for extra xml files in there that are backups or copies of the original platform xaml files, since this can cause the disappearing games issue. I didn't find any. Each platform has just one file there. I'm using Launchbox v.13.18 Quote

C-Beats Posted yesterday at 02:41 PM Posted yesterday at 02:41 PM Disappearing game entries almost always happens because of two issues. First off, you have backup files in your data folder that don't belong. Newer versions of LB do a better job of ignoring these but still best practice is to ensure you don't have files that don't belong in your Data folder. Second is caused by having an Auto-Hide feature enabled. In LaunchBox go to View > Show/Hide and make sure you don't have any of the "Hides Games Missing..." features enabled. Quote
mortypops Posted yesterday at 03:00 PM Posted yesterday at 03:00 PM Ah thanks but I checked and none of the hide options are enabled, and I don't see any backup files in Data folder. Hmmm! Quote
mortypops Posted yesterday at 03:35 PM Posted yesterday at 03:35 PM Oh okay they are there now and seem fine phew (0)-(0) Quote
Layer0730 Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM Posted yesterday at 04:48 PM (edited) I have noticed that sometimes when editing an item (changing box art or meta information for example),.. if hide items missing box art (again - example) is checked, the game will go into hidden status until the hide selection is unchecked and then rechecked or I reopen to "edit" the item and immediately save it after unhiding it. It only happens occasionally but can be bothersome when it does. Edited yesterday at 04:48 PM by Layer0730 Quote

How do I check for the first issue? The second issue probably isn't there in this case, I have nothing within the "view/hide games" menu checked. Quote

If you have any extra xaml files in there that are backups or copies of the original platform xaml files this can cause the disappearing games issue. Those need to be moved outside the \Data folders.
