Launchbox for Android 1.18 beta

@faeran I received an update for Launchbox for Android 1.18 beta this morning and after updating I noticed that launchbox is crashing constantly. I am not sure what is causing it, but when it crashes, I have to go to the apps sections, force close launchbox , clear the cache and then launchbox will work again. I am attaching 2 logs for you to review. My device is a Samsung Galaxy fold 3. 

On another note, I can verify that video steaming is working. However, I have noticed that some video links don't work but this is expected as videos come and go on youtube. I have noticed that some non-working videos can be fixed if you change the http to https on the video url section under edit metadata.  If that doesn't work, just go to youtube and look for game play video and use those urls.

Thanks for posting this Vader, I could see an official post for the Windows Beta but not Android.

 

Like you I'm also seeing alot of crashes with my Pixel 8 Pro. I had one crash that no matter how many times I closed the app from the memory it wouldn't start again until after I restarted my device. The app crashes are probably the worst thing about the app. I was getting app crashes before this beta but the beta has increased them.

 

It's a shame that the YouTube links can't be dynamic and just be searches to pick up on fresh content. As it currently is, I think I'll stick to using EmuMovies downloads. YouTube videos is a nice option but just not reliable enough, the limitation to not being able to play music is probably the killer for me.

Another issue that I noticed is that I cannot change any of the game art. When I go to a game and select edit media, i can select one of the media options and it will show me alternative media i can select, but the app won't let me select any of those media options.

Hey guys,

Sounds like we can continue the conversation in the beta thread post, but from the sounds of it, this is all due to video playback, which should be addressed in beta 2, which should be coming out soon.

We can test the media replacement thing as well, just do some testing and confirm which image types you are having issues with and we'll take a look.

Did a quick test, and yes the issue seems to be that touch screen controls aren't working on that page. Plug in a controller and it works.

I'll add that to the list.
