Me again....sorry.....

How do I get LB/BB to choose the right rom to play out of multiple roms.

For example. Double Dragon currently does not work in BB. But when I go into mame and choose Japan Set 1 it works. US set does not along with a couple others.

Can I point LB or BB to right rom so it works?

If you want to just once you just right click the game in LB and in the context menu is the possibility to launch one of the additional apps pick the one you want (BB the same can be done via the Game Details view). If you want to always launch that version than you open LB go to that game and select it and press CTRL+E to open the Edit Window. Go to the additional application tab and pick the row for the version you want to launch by default and then press the button that says make default and then OK to save.

Yep! Brilliant....however, what if they show no additional apps in LB but clearly in mame it has multiple versions.

Have tried the above with Wonder Boy and shows nothing addition.

Is this a possible solution at all.....

once following your above suggestion, under the main page....Metadata, the right hand side shows Region: North America and Version" (set 1....).....can these be manually changed to a different version found in mame

You have to import the versions you have into LB. If you're using a MAME rom set (not the software list) you have to run the MAME fullset importer to bring in all the clones if using a merged set.

In short, you can't tell the version by looking at it. You might be able to compare the files' data stamps and "get close". But it's still not a for-sure thing.  Though if you downloaded them in conjunction with the MAME emulator, you can open MAME and it will tell you what version "it" is (but not the ROMs specifically).
