The Papaw Posted Saturday at 02:17 PM Posted Saturday at 02:17 PM I am wanting to use 2 different sets of platform videos, one for LB and a different one for BB. Is there a way to use a couple .bat files to rename the 2 different folders. Run one when LB launches and run another when BB launches? Or some other way to accomplish this?? Any ideas would be much appreciated Quote
JoeViking245 Posted Saturday at 02:47 PM Posted Saturday at 02:47 PM You can add the batch files in Tools < Options < General < Startup Applications I'm not sure if they execute prior to initiating LB/BB though. (But imagine they do.) Tou can set them specifically for LaunchBox and/or Big Box. For "cleanliness", you may want to create shortcuts for the batch files. Then right-click each one (the shortcut, that is) and select Properties. Change Run: to Minimized. Then when adding the Starup Apps, select the shortcut(s). Respectively. This way you won't see the Command Prompt window when they run. Quote
skizzosjt Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago they do execute prior to initiating, or at least can properly edit LB/BB related files/folders in my case. I edit moving folders/images around to have different images used for badges when LB is booted, vs when BB is booted. I would bet same can be applied to platform videos. Have one entry in Startup Applications to run only when LB boots, and the other only when BB boots. you already have the native/intended folder location for these videos. make two new folders, one for the LB specific videos, one for BB specific videos. use the script to copy the LB video folder to the native/intended location when LB boots, and the other script with copy the BB video folder when BB boots. there are theme overrides to consider too. depending on your setup and use case, it might be easier to place the Big Box specific platform videos into the theme's folder so whenever you are using that theme in Big Box you get the Big Box specific platform videos. \LaunchBox\Themes\<Theme Name>\Videos\Platforms place them there 1 Quote

Depending on the number of videos there, one may want to just re-name the folder, rather than copy the files. 1 hour ago, skizzosjt said: there are theme overrides to consider too. depending on your setup and use case, it might be easier to place the Big Box specific platform videos into the theme's folder so whenever you are using that theme in Big Box you get the Big Box specific platform videos. Excellent point! @JoeViking245 @skizzosjt. Thanks to both of you for the great tips! The simplest solution was put 2nd set in the theme folder. (much easier too!, and you were more on my brain wave Joe, yep only a single brain wave 1 Quote
