dudechester Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Had to undo a LOT of setup, because I stupidly asked for ai support. ai hasn't got a clue how to setup retroarch and uses random outdated searches and old versions to provide incorrect answers which ultimately lead to us innocent gamers from having our 90% working setups destroyed... Anyway, I'm trying to play my "Dungeon Master" on the Amiga - HOW IS IT POSSIBLE to use a physical mouse please? 3 hours going through every forum, watching youtube videos and cannot find any information whatsoever anywhere for what I would have assumed is something really popular? Please advise if you are smart thankyou Quote

Please advise if you are smart thankyou Hi, that's what AI suggested: The physical mouse setup is handled inside RetroArch’s PUAE core. For Dungeon Master, try this: Connect the USB/Bluetooth mouse before launching the game. Launch the game with the PUAE core. Open RetroArch’s Quick Menu. Go to Core Options / Options > Input. Set Physical Mouse to Enabled. Leave Double disabled unless you are on a Linux/raw/udev setup; RetroArch’s PUAE docs say Double requires raw/udev input and proper mouse index setup. Set Mouse Speed to 100 to start. Close and relaunch the game after changing the option. Also, don’t worry if you don’t see “Mouse” as a normal Port 1 / Port 2 controller type. PUAE documents mouse support separately as an “Other controller” that is enabled by default. 1 Quote
dudechester Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Thanks for the info I just discovered just before your message > having plugged a controller in... yes a controller....... and pressing R2 switches to mouse mode. Mind blown... so to get mouse mode working, you need a controller There is literally no indication of this anywhere and not a single resolution online where I've seen this question asked 100 times where the resolution was use a controller lol sigh all those hours lost... I mean i learnt a lot about other settings in RetroArch, but right from the start, the latest version has this setup on Index 0 which is hidden for the reason you simply use a HOTKEY / BUTTON in my case R2 I must have tried everything under the sun except from try a controller (For obvious reasons). There's probably a HotKey for Controller > Mouse mode switch somewhere also. Many thanks and hopefully if anyone else is searching for how to get their mice working, there's a special mode Quote

dudechester Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Hot key knowledge but hey, seriously is there a proper way to switch between controller / mouse mode using a keyboard? What is the official way to do this without a controller? (If anyone knows) I'm still mind blown though, because when it comes to amiga, pc, atari st gaming, mouse mode is a huge part for many of them old games, and it used to be that you can just set it up in the configs (Which is what ai still thinks you can do) but at some update point it was changed to a mode switch? dudechester Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago There is another issue with this update which seems overly complicated too... IF you play a Nintendo DS game, and use stylus to point, it acts same as finger, dragging a marker around the screen instead of actually being a point where you're pointing too. (Like a NDS does) Hopefully to change from drag touch screen > proper touchscreen it won't be another secret button combination. Quote
dudechester Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago stylus and touch in NDS games seems to be cursed for years. github.com/libretro/RetroArch/issues/15490 Wish it were possible just to use a stylus as a stylus Quote
dudechester Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Found it!!! Very strangely it's not in the most obvious of places. Instead of being under controls, it's in Core > Screen > Touch mode That will definitely help NDS people Cheers Quote
