legolas119 Posted Wednesday at 08:53 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:53 PM Hi, some times i would like to add to my collection some games that have several patches. Until now I applied the patch to the original rom and then I added all the different roms, considering them different games. For example: Super Metroid for Super Nintendo. I have 5 different patches: if I want to play and add them to LB, i need to patch the original rom using a different patch: in this way, i have 5 different game versions and i need to add the same game (even if it is patched) 5 times in LB. Well, is it possible for example to "group" the 5 patched roms in one? It could be perfect to have Super Metroid one time only in my collection and then load the rom version i would like to play. Is it possible? thank you Quote
Nixx Posted Wednesday at 09:32 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:32 PM Multiple options : A- You could group roms into one using "versions". B- You can make an archive like 7z file containing multiple version of the game and use plugin on external tool to handle that. For the B, you have multiple choice. You can use the Archive Cache Manager plugin, i read that some folk still updating it. - You can use my old bigbox profile third party tool, but it's currently not updated, maybe i will come back on it one day. But since it's a third party, it should still work regardless. - You can give a try to my alpha of extenddb where in included an rom extraction module, just disable the other module you dont need. But it's still in early alpha. Quote
legolas119 Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago thanks, please, speaking about A solution, how i can group them using "versions"? Have I to import the different version of one specific rom again, deleting the ones already imported? thanks Quote
