DonellHD Posted July 14 Posted July 14 I have games that load quick and they will start in the background a sec before the startup screen disappears which is perfect. But some games in various platforms force the startup screen to close earlier than is set which gives the arcade a messy startup sequence. is there any way to force the startup screen to stay up regardless of whats starting up after it? setting the timer longer does not fix this. using the custom timer plugin does not either. changing the exclusive screen options don't help either. I was maybe thinking of an ahk to start an image in front of the whole PC and wait a certain amount of seconds and then disappear. Example of the break here. bandicam 2026-07-13 23-16-15-465.mp4 Quote

The startup screen is shown -> back to BigBox for 2-3 seconds, and then retroarch starts. This is also for an arcade cabinet, and it is a bit jarring and takes away from the seamless experience that it should be. Quote

Changes were made that "should" fix this. Quote

Yes, I updated yesterday hoping it would fix the issue, but alas. startup-theme-compressed.mp4 Edited 14 hours ago by proghodet Quote

When you edit the emulator, in the Startup Screens section there's some new checkbox options. Try playing around with those a little. (not at my main PC right, so don't have the specifics in front of me right now) 1 Quote
