I wanted to move my already imported games to a different drive.

They were in I:\Emulators\Atari2600\Games.

I moved them to E:\Emulators\Atari2600\Games.

I did the following:

1) Right-clicked Atari2600 on the left hand side, Edit, Folders. I changed the folder to the new location.

2) Highlighted all games, Tools, File management, Change Roms folder path for all games. Pointed at the new folder. It then updated itself so all appears fine.

However now when I try to start a game it just loads the emulator (Stella). It's like it's either not passing the full path any more or is erroring somehow. I have changed nothing else.

The other weird thing I noted is that if I go to manage emulators then stella, in the "associated platforms" box there is a default command line parameter set of "-f". (fullscreen mode.) If I remove this then everything works fine again.

This was always there so I don't understand why this is breaking all of a sudden when all I did was move the games folder.

My educated guess is that it is somehow now corrupting the line, i.e instead of saying "stella.exe -f "full path to rom"" it is corrupting it because of this parameter?

Am I just missing something obvious or is this a potential bug?

(1) will, for any new ROMs added to the new location, will import those new games (if Automated Imports is enabled [for that platform]).  If you don't plan to use the Automated Imports [for this platform], this step is not necessary for moving your ROMs.

(2) after having relocated the ROMs, will update the app path to those games. If you don't plan to use the Automated Imports [for this platform],

The caveat with (2) is, if the ROMs are in their own subfolders (e.g. E:\Emulators\Atari2600\Games\Adventure\Adventure (1978) (Atari) [!].7z) this will not work.

Not sure if it's changed over time, but for my parameters I have:
-baseinappdir -fullscreen 1

The 1st one runs it in portable mode (otherwise datum is saved to \AppData\Roaming\Stella\), but is not required.
The 2nd sets fullscreen=true.  Using -fullscreen 0 will set it to 'false' and not go fullscreen.  If you set fullscreen via the UI, this is not needed.

Note:
When opening the emulator, either by double-clicking the exe or right-click a game in LB and selecting "Open Stella", ANY AND ALL changes made will be saved to its AppData folder.  So, if you subsequently run a game with the -baseinappdir parameter, the "ANY AND ALL" changes will not be reflected.

IF you've made all sorts of cool changes via Stella's UI and you want to make it portable, you can simply copy (or move) all the subfolders and files under \AppData\Roaming\Stella\ into your emulators actual folder. Then make sure you launch the game(s) with the -baseinappdir parameter.

If later you want to access the UI to make changes, what I've done is created a batch file ("run portable.bat") next to Stella.exe containing stella -baseinappdir, and run it [instead of the exe].  Just remember to not open the emulator directly from LB to make any changes.

            Got it. Thanks.

No subfolders. All games in one folder.

Not sure if it's changed over time, but for my parameters I have:
-baseinappdir -fullscreen 1

That's interesting. I changed mine to -fullscreen 1 and now it works perfectly!

I am new to launchbox so to date have just let launchbox do its thing. I have no idea where the -f parameter came from, it could only have been put there by launchbox. The games definitely worked before the move so I have no idea why or where it all went wrong. Has the -f stopped working or did it somehow remove the fullscreen bit. Who knows.!

It's working now so that's all i care about. Really appreciate your response :)
