I can't really say since i didn't tested the beta yet. I prefer using stable versions than getting a pack of hidden/notable bugs.

LaunchBox\Images\Platform Categories\[Name]\Clear Logo

There will be an interface to manage them in a future beta.

I see there is a playlist category logo.  I have never seen a playlist show up in my bigbox when I have it in category view,  how does this work?  I'd like to have a category for playlists to jump into instead of remembering a keypress.
