MAME 3D Boxes (4885) 1.0.3

About This File

These are available through Emumovies Sync.

This is a collection of all known official MAME flyers converted to simple 3D Boxes. The idea was to make them look like cardboard boxes. Please note: downloading these files will NOT cover 4885 games as most of the Boxes names are for various different versions of the SAME game. The amount of games covered will depend on what region and MAME roms you have in your LaunchBox setup.

3D Boxes made from all Launchbox Database Flyers can be downloaded here:

If anyone knows of flyers I am missing could they please send me a link to where I can download them and I will make boxes for them also and add to the collection.

Released

Added a slight gloss to all boxes.

Amazing work @Robin55, I see the boxes are being uploaded to the database and spotted one file with an error which is also present in the emumovies database when scraping the 2d flyer, the flyer of a game called pro golf (and something, there are a few games with almost the same name I believe) is a browser snapshot with a menu bar with tabs in the top of the flyer, if I come acros any other things like this I'll let you know. Thanks for your hard work!

Thanks @Mr. RetroLust! Yes I know there is the odd error in two or three of the original files which naturally led too two or three errors in the 3D Boxes but in a collection of about 8500 3D Boxes they can be difficult to spot but I'll make a list of them as I upload them to the database and fix them up. Speaking of the database I seem to be kind of getting mixed opinions as to whether or not they should be in the database or not. For every approval I get I get an equal amount of rejections. before I add anymore I'm going to do a bit of asking around. I also want to add labels to the Boxes that are missing logos just to clean things up a bit.

Yes I imagine they are difficult to spot with so many boxes that's why I help you spot them ;) I rejected this particular box in the db moderation because of that error but it might be accepted by others that don't see it, the other boxes that where uploaded till now looked fine and I accepted them, I like em. Personally I don't think adding art for missing art is a good solution though but it's wise to ask around before doing so much work indeed.

Ok Thanks man. I can't believe I messed up on that golf game so early....

No problem man, thank you! You are absolutely not the only one who didn't saw it, it's a small bar that's why the image has been floating around for a while.

Brilliant work, I'm just downloading the update with the clear logos in the spine of the boxes. nice touch.

What software package did you use to make these? did you set them up so that they are sized and perspective aligned automatically? or is it manual for each one?

I've been creating a lot of bezels to place directly into Mame artwork folder using Gimp art package. Tbh it turned out to be a "Why did I start this" but I had to finish it.

I hope you don't mind me using your template to create some boxes for the roms that I have on mame that don't have any legit flyers available. mainly the bootleg games, eg: Ave Fenix, Batman part 2 (both Pheonix clones) and to cover some of the more obsure far east games.

and I've only just logged on today since ages. yes I see those boxes and added to Mr.Retrolust catalogue. Haven't done much on Launchbox for ages, switched over to making a Virtual pinball table.
