Thanks a lot ❤️ It looks like this Apple Cider Spider differs from the one uploaded in the database? The picture below is from the database, and it seems that the bottom of the S is missing a hole

@Napalm2016 Thanks for a very nice report

My Launchbox/BigBox currently is running on an older i3-based NUC with 8GB RAM and Intel HD graphics. It runs really well, kinda I was impressed to see it run stuff like PSP and Wii, but it seems to struggle a little sometimes, especially with PS2 games. This makes me wish that i had something more powerful, but still in a form factor that resembles a TV settop box somewhat. Then i discovered the Hades Canyon and i watched a few vids from ETA Prime where he really seems to like it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWibNuMLTFs). I fell in love instantly ❤️ But now this model is well over a year old, and i wonder how it's holding up? It still seems to be a super expensive solution (especially in my case, since i plan to max out the 32GB RAM and have two 2TB M.2 drives in a RAID0 configuration) So, if there are any Hades Canyon users here, can i ask you a few question? - Are you still happy with it's performance? - Did you experience any issues running Launchbox/BigBox? - How well does it run PCSX2? - Any emulators / situation that makes it stutter? - The fans Noisy or bearable in a livingroom environment? - Did you ever find the need to overclock? - Anything else that i should be aware of? Thanks

Nice, thx I will have to peel away all the adult/magjong stuff manually somehow, but from there i can just import "traditionally" into LB. But i kinda still dream about LB with time getting support for .dat or .xml some way

I hope for import of older sets also. My main need was covered with mame 0.196 with the implementation of true Taito C-chip emulation, enabling me to enjoy titles like Rainbow Island and Bonze Adventure. I never found a true 0.196 set, but I got a 0.199 set and a matching mame64. I would love to have Launchbox accept the dat-file which I can export from my mame. I was not aware about Launchbox only supporting the newest romset, and in my personal case it would be somewhat overkill... I am sure that the newest mame is very nice, but since I run from an outdated NUC I try to tone it down a bit ?

The user @seaview59 created a lovely EU logo for "Super B.C. Kid". The logo is uploaded to games DB - picture is "registered" as "Clear Logo (Europe)" https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/8902 Now i would imagine that i could right--click my game, select "Edit" and download clear logos, but when i see the list of downloadable Clear Logos it looks like there are only two logos (indicated by a "2" in parenthesis). I kindly ask for help to understand this: - The "Region" of my game is set to "Europe" - The rom file itself is in fact the true "Super B.C. Kid (E).smc" - The game entry points to the correct db ID (9250) - I tried to delete the db link and re-search for metadata, and of course it finds the same game ID - I waited som days for db to settle and "update" I guess i am missing something, because i only get to download 2 clear logos no matter what i do, annd these two logos are the two, old "Super Bonk" ones. I really hope that somebody here can tell me how i fix this, pls hlp

I made a mistake I made four 3D boxes to use with the Entex Adventure Vision system. I figured that it was about time to contribute to the DB and i uploaded the pics, now pending. But the images are no good, it was very obvious on the white background after upload ? Now i made a new set of four 3D boxes and i wish to fix my submissions... Can i delete the submissions and re-submit the four new images? or can i somehow edit them while they're still in pending or something like that? Sry, next time i make sure to triple check before uploading

So cool!! Thank you very much ❤️

Can I ask for two more EU logos please? This time it is for NES. Four Players' Tennis https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/11341 https://www.screenscraper.fr/gameinfos.php?plateforme=3&gameid=18897 The Bugs Bunny Blowout https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/1594 https://www.screenscraper.fr/gameinfos.php?plateforme=3&gameid=71546 Thank you

Wow Thank you @seaview59. This is gorgeous!

My very first request This is about SNES game "Super Bonk", with EU title "Super B.C. Kid" https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/8902 https://www.screenscraper.fr/gameinfos.php?gameid=2791&action=onglet&zone=gameinfosmedias There is only a US logo, and i would really love to have the correct EU logo for my SNES collection I tried to attach a pic of the box with the EU logo saying "Super B.C. Kid"

Thank you so much!!! You just saved me a lot of time and probably also a few headaches :) Never tried maxcso. I will give it a spin this weekend.

Some interesting stuff here, seeing as one of my upcoming tasks will be to play around with PS2 very soon. I apologize if this is seen as derailing, but it might also be too lame to start a new thread about it Packing with 7zip: Some of the games are kinda huge, like 4GB. Does the "unpack before run" not take some serious time at every game startup? Packing into cso: This idea intrigues me, since i do the same with PSP games. I didn't know this was possible for PS2 also. I read somewhere that PCSX2 will take gzip-files if the emulator indexes the file beforehand, but that seems kinda tedious. So, should i just use the same tool for both PSP and PS2 to end up with cso-files?

I experience this also, different platforms. I scrape, and the games are found in Launchbox database (i am sure because it shows the game ID in top right corner of "edit" page), but the videos are not all downloaded. Then i go to "Edit" and re-download without touching the game name, and i find videos available. I kinda feel that it is due to retry count, like it tries 3 times and then moves on to next title. This puzzles me as i have a very fast and stable internet connection. But of course if Emumovies does not answer then my speedy connection isn't worth pants Another weird thing i experience: The games are shown in Launchbox with different graphics (3d boxes being my default). Some show up with f.ex "cart front" or the likes. I go to "Edit" and confirm that there really is an image for "3D Box", then i click OK and suddenly the default picture turns to 3D Box. I don't really think this issue is about my connection I have a few other examples of unexpected behaviour, like sorting alphabetically and such, but i am fairly new and i am still unsure if this is cause by me not following best practice when scraping or if it really involves bugs, and in the case of the latter, where to report and that sort of thing. I have a strong feeling that thesse minor booboos will all get sorted in time And despite these occasional hiccups i am 110% in love with both Launchbox and Bigbox. I come from the Retropie scene, and i haven't looked back a single time ever since i bought my LB license. Enough babbling and derail, sry Early morning here. Gonna grab some coffee and OCD some more about my collection.

Any tips on how to use overlays for Vectrex games running in Retroarch? I am not too keen on running MESS or ParaJVE My setup worked like a charm on Retropie, and it goes like this: - I have my zipped roms in "Launchbox\Games\GCE Vectrex\" named like "Armor Attack.zip" - For every rom i have a .cfg file named like "Armor Attack.zip.cfg". These also reside in the rom folder This .cfg file looks like this: input_overlay = "(the path to rom folder)\overlays\Armor Attack.cfg" input_overlay_enable = true input_overlay_opacity = 0.375000 input_overlay_scale = 1.000000 custom_viewport_width = "846" custom_viewport_height = "1080" custom_viewport_x = "0" custom_viewport_y = "0" aspect_ratio_index = "22" video_scale_integer = true - In the rom folder i also have a folder named "overlays". This folder contains the actual overlay .png file and an extra .cfg file The extra .cfg file looks like this: overlays = 1 overlay0_overlay = "Armor Attack.png" overlay0_full_screen = false overlay0_descs = 0 I think my biggest problem is how to write a "dynamic" commandline parameter under "Associated platforms", because if i write the absolute path to the first .cfg then it works, of course all games use the same overlay Also, it seems like Retroarch insists on "saving config" when i run a game, bloating my first .cfg file with tons of other settings I did try to press "F1" while running a game, to go into Retroarch settings and maybe fix something "per game" with Overlay settings, but the text in the UI is severly borked, looks like Klingon or something (i think this is caused by the resolution that Vectrex core is running). I would be fully ok with leaving all this tedious "it worked on my Pi"-configuration if there is an easier method. How do you guys go about this?

Aah, that sounds very plausible. Thanks, i will grab a cold one instead and wait to give it another go tomorrow I really like this db stuff, and i already found a few booboos which i reported. I think it is very comforting for my OCD, hehe... hoping to get 25 corrections in time, so i can also contribute with with the db entries.

Hi guys and girls I have been using Launchbox for a few weeks now. I loved it so much that i got myself a Bigbox license and shortly after of course EmuMovies also, both lifetime; because this emulation hobby of mine is definitely worth it and i am CRAZY about that sexy Bigbox layout and all the themes. I love the whole ecosystem with the community, the external services, the database, you name it And this is my first humble attemt to post about a n00b issue that i ran into: While messing around with some ROMs import and stuff, i came across some "discrepancies" in the database. A fresh example: "The Sims 2 - castaway" for PSP. The picture of the disc was marked as "Cart", so my Launchbox did not find the Disc picture of course. Then i comitted a change from "cart" to "disc" - this has now been accepted, and i see in the database (through my browser) that the disc pic is indeed marked as "Disc" (https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/31936) So, i went to Launchbox, Right-clicked the game and select "Edit". Then i clicked "Download images", but i still don't see "Disc" in the list despite the image clearly has been corrected. Hmmm, i deleted the game and re-imported that single title (hoping that it would refresh some metadata or something), but it's the same deal... i see a list of all the pics related to the "Castaway" title, but "Disc" is not one of them Now, i am fairly sure that this error is fully on my behalf Even though Launchbox is extremely comfortable compared to RetroPie on my Pi3, it is still very elaborate and i keep finding cool features. My guess is that i just missed something important. I hope that some veteran Launchboxer can kindly teach me how to fix this in the correct way? Edit: fixed a few typos for readability
