  1. What are those projects that people have used in the past
  2. Yeah, I noticed that you have the other front ends launching through lunchbox. I would presume those front ends have their own emulators and the roms which are inside of their respective emulator folders. I also don't have experience with exodos so their folder structure might be something specific for a reason. Changing some of those things would cause breakage unless reviewed. Why did you use symlinks over junctions?
  3. Hello again. I have noticed some more things that are inconsistent that I want to point out. Some of these things are very minor, while others are not and can help your system to being better organized and eliminate duplicates too. a. Commodore amiga 3000 doesn't have the 3000 in their own directories. b. What about hiding all the bios from the default view? c. Under 'cheats' there are some games that are not within their own platform directory. One example would be 'Legend of Spyro, The - A New Beginning (USA, Europe) (Code Breaker).cht'. d. There are some folder names under the 'Bandai Apple Pippin' platform that are not capitalized. For example, the Parent directory for 'Post de Card light'. e. The emulator 'trs32' doesn't have a capitalized C in the application path. f. There are multiple mame emulators that could be consolidated. The path for the exe is the same but the platform associated are different and are not indicative of the platforms they are associated with. E.g. 'MAME201' and 'MAME211' both have arcade but only one has Arcade MultiGames. Why not consolidate them into one emulator, or make 'MAME' the default emulator? The systems are the following: 'MAME', 'MAME222', 'MAME211', 'MAME201', 'MAME241'. g. Commodore Amiga 2000 roms are not in their own directory. h. Under the 'Games\Sony Playstation 1' there are 'Nintendo power' games listed for the platform '.Manuals'. i. Why not consolidate the NEC PC8801 and XM8 emulators and associated platform because they use the same directories? j. There are some mame folders that can be consolidated but they have different paths and those are the following: 'MAME_ASTROCADE', 'TaitoSystems', 'TecmoMame', 'NichibutsuMAME', 'MAME_PDC'. k. The bios for the 'Atari Jaguar CD' are located in the wrong directory. They are in the 'Atari Jaguar' directory rather than 'Atari Jaguar CD'. l. 'mGBA' has a double folder situation e.g. \mgba\mbga\mgba.exe m. For the 'Commodore Amiga' 500 and 600 they are not in chronological order when listed as platforms. You could solve this by putting a zero in front of them. n. There are two cd-i emulators that could be consolidated. 'CD-i' and 'CD-i emulator'. o. There two emulators that are literally the same 'Ep128' and 'ep128emu2'. p. I noticed there are roms the mame exe located in both 'Games\Arcade\' and 'Games\Mame\' you could consolidate them but I couldn't figure out the structure of why they were this way. q. I noticed that there are two AAE emulators is there a difference between the two? r. There are a lot of emulators that are not located under the 'Emulators' directory but rather the 'Games' directory. Those are the following: 3DNES, AAE2, AAE_Mame, microbee, MAME 0.229, CFX9850, Cromemco, Csirac, Csirac3, Dendy, MAME_DreamGear, entex mess, FBurnNeo, Galaksija, MBS1, IBM PC jr, Retroarch_LowResNX, MAME251, MAME241, MAME Fujitsu, MAME, SPC1000MAME, MAME222, MAME204 FC, MAME211, MAME201, mfme, NichibutsuMAME, Cemu, ORAO, videopac+ g7400, FX3, MAME_PDC, OpenBor, PHC25, ScummVM_Launcher, RPCS3new, MessUITatung, teknoparrot, TouhouProject, uzebox. s. There are some roms under the platform 'Atari XEGS' that have the directory of 'Games\Atari 8-bit\' which don't match the other 'Games\Atari XEGS\' directory. t. There are two ScummVm with the svn having the smaller of the roms. u. You could move the 'exo' from the exo platforms towards the end and have both ms-dos version show chronologically each after other. The same thing would apply for the ScummVM and AppleIIGS v. There are three MS-DOS platforms. One is the previously mentioned exo, not exo and the regular ms-dos. w. There are platforms that have roms in a folder called 'Emulators' rather than 'Games: 'Atlus', 'Nichibutsu','APF Imagination Machine', 'Acorn Computers', 'Taito’. x. Higan has two emulators and can be consolidated. y. There are two emulators that are literally the same 'XM7Dash' and 'FM7'. z. The platform, 'Final Burn Delta' has roms inside a sub folder named 'roms' when there is a parent directory already called 'Games'. It doesn't match the structure of the other directories. aa. There are two VisualBoy under emulators. ab. PPSSPP has a duplicate emulator entry 'PPSSPP' and 'PPSSPP174'. ac. Blue MSX has a duplicate emulator entry 'Blue MSX', and 'blueMSX'. ad. 'Apple Newton' has a double folder situation an example games\a\a\books. ae. There are a lot of systems that point to an absolute directory, 'H:\LaunchBox', but others point to local directories 'Games\'. af. There are two directories for the platform 'Taito Type X' one is 'Taito Type X' and the other is 'Arcade PC'. ag. There is an issue with the playlists. For the collections that have Top... in them if the 50 and the 20s had a zero in front of them then they would be in correct chronological order. Just the same as the '1. Best Of Gold', '2. Best Of Silver'. ah. I would recommend to remove the period from the '.DOS Magazines' so they are in a naming scheme similar to the 'Apple IIGS Magazines'.
  4. Thank you. I did all this manually. I wanted to see what you had that I didn't have in my collection. In addition, I wanted to sync your games to my Launchbox database collection which, would be advantageous for me because I could easily go through and edit the publishers and developer's for inconsistencies. Currently, I have ram limitations that are a hindrance for Launchbox because of the size of the collection. So manually doing something would probably be be best for me.
  5. Here are some ideas for more playlist collections. These are the ones that I have that I noticed you do not have in your collection. addams-family asteroids battletoads bonk boulder-dash breath-of-fire bubble-bobble bubsy centipede defender dig-dug donkey-kong dragon-quest final-fight fire-emblem galaga galaxian gauntlet ghostbusters goemon gundam joust mahjong marvel nba-jam pitfall pokemon power-rangers r-type ranma-1-2 robocop robotron rocky-&-bullwinkle sailor-moon shin-megami space-invaders super-robot-wars superman terminator tetris wario wizardry x-men Ys zoids
  6. Hi, I have noticed some things that would benefit you to address. Platforms Wonderswan color is missing from the platform category. Roms Some of the Pokemon sapphire games have inconsistent naming. I.e. some of the roms are missing the "-" between "Pokemon" and "Sapphire" Xbox 360 games in xbox section. I noticed that there were some games from the Xbox 360 directories that are in the Xbox section, not sure what that is about maybe you know The rom "final fantasy crystal chronicles ring of fate" should be capitalized. The rom "super volley II" for the Nintendo satellaview is not capitalized. Inconsistent filenaming. If you want everything to have the same level of naming, i.e. Capitalization followed by lower case, or every rom CAPITALIZED using bulk rename on everything is an option. I don't remember if the change in capitalization is detected as a change in the rom being removed. Emulator There are two 4dolibertro cores. When selecting retroarch to play a 3do game there are two cores associated with that platform for retroarch to chose from, both being 4dolibretro i.e. there should be only one or more information associated with one to differ between the two Snes9x naming under manage emulater "Snes9x" doesn't have the same helpful information in the name as the other emulators "SNES9X1.6" or "SNES.MSU1.snes9x.1.56.2" The "SNES.MSU1.snes9x.1.56.2" emulator has the an extra associated platform "Nintendo SNES MSU1" The "SNES.MSU1.snes9x.1.56.2" emulator name doesn't match the platform category or playlist and should be renamed to include a “-” because it is otherwise inconsistent with the other naming for snes msu-1 playlist. The emulator "SNES9X.16" has an extra platform associated with it named "SNES MSU1" and remember the ^ that is an extra unused platform as far as I can tell. The emulator "MAME 0.229" does not the naming of the other mame emulators e.g. MAME251. The following should have should have Mame at the beginning so they will all group together by name when ordering in manage emulator. ToaplanMame, KanekoMame, AAE_Mame, UnicoMame, NichibutsuMame, TecmoMame, AtlusMame, Pv1000Mame, SPC1000MAME "PPSSPP174" should have mini in its name to be more descriptive instead of the version name because the version name is in the directory. "LutroRetroarch" emulator should have the "Lutro" at the end to group it with other Retroarchs. The naming of the emulators sometimes there is a capitalization and sometimes there is not, other times there is ALLCAPS. inconsistent naming between "Steem" and "STEEM 4.1.2" Duplicate arcade under platform category: there are two of each of the following: Toaplan, SNK Neo Geo MVS, Sega St-V, Sega Model 2, IGS, Capcom Play System(1,2,3), Cave Playlists Barewith me, the playlists for the bronze, silver and gold do not match the chronological order of the "Top, 20, 50,and 100" playlists. The "Best of..." are using a number notation to conform to chronological order, e.g. 1. 2. and 3.. While the top "100, 50, and 20" are not in chronological order when displayed in the playlist selection. To fix this pad a zero in front of them, e.g. 050 and 020 then they will be in order. Duplicate playlists. I noticed you have both "Best of..." and "Top 20, 50, and 100" but only for some consoles: Nintendo 3ds, Nintendo n64, Nintendo ds, Nintendo Gameboy, Nintendo Game & Watch, Nintendo Gameboy Advance, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo SNES, Nintendo Virtual Boy, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U. Best of playlist have inconsistent amount of games compared to similar playlists. for the playlists of "Best of" sometimes, what I can only assume, encompasses all the games from the bronze, silver and gold. Considering this, sometimes, the "Best of ..." will include games that are one more or one less than what the other lists will show. E.g. Sega Genesis - 1. Best of Gold has one more game than what Sega Genesis - The Best has. This was based on my collection and viewing the numbers of items displayed so your number might be different. "Commodore Amiga - 1. Gold" Games doesn't match the naming scheme of the other best of playlists. Some game ip collections are missing the word "collection" from the end of them. assassins creed, asterix &B obleix, back to the future, barbeie, call of duty, fifa, metal slug complete, ms pac-man, pokemon, quake Some input controller playlists are not consistence in naming. spinner games and spinner racing games do not match the other playlists that start with "- " and end with "-" There are some playlists that are missing the words "Published by " to be grouped with the other playlists named the same thing. 20th Century Fox, dc comics, Warner Bros., ubisoft ubi soft, U.S. Gold, technos, rockstar A playlist needs to be updated to consider more publishers. Ubi soft is the name of the playlist but the playlists searches for "ubisoft" it should search for both with and without the space i.e. ubisoft and ubi soft Recommendation to use dev infront of dev playlist to match the publisher playlists those are the following: Activision blizzard, bethesda, dreamworks, elite systesms, hudson soft, lucas arts ocean software There are a couple of playlists that include both search terms for both dev and pub tl;dr, here is criticism on how to improve some the organization of your collection
