Update Reinstalled everything, for giggles. Launchbox, Epic Launcher, installed 2 epic games but no change. Did epic make a launcher change that broke things?

Added note If Epic launcher is closed, LB does not even attempt to open it. If it is already open the games still get the above error

I can import the games fine I can also launch them fine outside of launchbox When i try to launch them from LB though i get the below error on All Epic games Instead of opening the launcher and sending the params to it, it is trying to run it like it was something in the LB folder Not sure what to make of it, it did work a while ago Reinstalled epic launcher and reinstalled LB but no luck They run fine when launched from anything else, even command prompt, just not LaunchBox

Ok, i have figured out the cause It is steam, the next official steam update is likely to blow up steam launcher i disabled the beta program and rolled back steam to release channel, and it is fine again. problem will be when the beta goes into the release channel

Somewhat old but in case someone comes along this You do not need to use a bat file Do not add the ROMs like a normal emulator Add a game manually point it to daphne.exe (or singe.exe depending on game) in the command line parameters just put in the appropriate daphne launch args for the game Lets take freedom fighter for an example We use singe.exe, and for the command line singe vldp -opengl -x 2560 -y 1440 -fullscreen_window -noserversend -volume_vldp 64 -volume_nonvldp 32 -sound_buffer 2048 -framefile .\framefile\freedomfighter\ff.txt -script .\singe\freedomfighter\setupgame_mouse.singe If you already added as a ROM, just edit that selections meta data Click emulation and uncheck that it is emulated Then click Launch and show it where singe or daphne.exe is then put the correct launch args in the command line box Now no batfiles need be used. Update So this is interesting It does not work with Core or Desktop Only with the .NET Core SDK 3.1.423 (x64) That is all well and good i guess, but i dont think the average user should need to pull down a 600mb SDK to run Launchbox as an end user. Could be due to a recent OS change by MS perhaps?

Tried this, but did not work Windows 11 pro, new PC Copied launchbox over from old PC ran it, would not start, if brought up the requires .NET core dialog asked if it could install now Clicked Yes Nothing happened, dialog just went away Went to website as suggested here installed both 64bit runtimes core and desktop Same response from launchbox Made sure .Net 3.x and .Net 4.x were fully enabled in windows features reboot PC Same result, dialog pops up telling me this requires .NET core Would you like to download now Clicking Yes just closes the box as if No was clicked Reinstalled windows 11 from latest ISO from MS using media creation tool same exact results Tried on another PC for giggles Plugged in a spare HDD and did a fresh win 11 install Same exact results.
