  1. I agree however there are ways to avoid virus programs and come out clean... if they contain a password protected internal zip/rar/etc that won't be visible until it's extracted during install... so, that does work quite often [Virusl Total], but, not if the programmer is good Always ways to hide bad things Password protected zip/rar/etc's can't be scanned inside without the password. The programmer could also randomize the payload to avoid detection which is how I would do it with a special token sequence somewhere in the file to encrypt the data uniquely for every virus sent out to avoid detection. But, that's just how I would do it. Thankfully most virus writers don't think like I do But, I'm just happy it's resolved LOL! Have a great day everyone Chromium does get used by too many PUP's etc... prob why it gets flagged so much "Custom open source browser"... what could go wrong? LOL! I wish I had of kept the original file I downloaded and went to re-install it to see if it was Avast that changed... but... time... so little time... anyways... off to work I go!
  2. I re-downloaded the Launchbox V13.22 today, overwriting my previous download a few days ago. Scanned it with Malwarebytes. No issues. Installed it. No issues with my Avast. Problem seems to be gone now. I do understand about false positives however I have been in IT longer than most of you have been alive LOL, well, since the 80's anyways. Seen everything... seen a bank release thousands of CD's with a virus by accident, seen big companies like Avast release their CCleaner with a virus. It happens. The problem is, there is so many ways to get infected these days, it's hard to tell.. is it really a false positive? Normally I would test it on one of my other Ryzens but, I only use my 7950x as my main machine, no time to go to my 5950x to test things out... lack of space where I live. LOL! So, I also use my machines for work... can't risk any infections at all and my air gapped machines require time to move software to them for testing which I only do in batches. BUT, doesn't matter... all seems to be resolved now anyways! Love your program! Happy to be a paid supporter. Keep up the good work! David Perry Perry Computer Services (Canada). (and yes, always downloaded through your site). -------------- An ease of life solution... Allow us to have a folder with all the BIOS's in it. Point the software to that folder. And when you are importing games... it looks in that folder for everything it could ever want... pops up the choices (Say for PS1) or other ROMS/BIOS and let's you choose... BIOS1, BIOS2, ... BIOS5, etc... Then the software could be even more automated. -------- I do find it pretty slow on a network connection but it could be my linux raid 5 array. 2.5Gbps LAN connection through Ubiquity Switch, Ubuntu MDADM speeds of 7.4GB/sec (across all the raided drives)... but, will be adding in an SSD array in the future so maybe that's the problem... We shall see... either way, love the software!
  3. I have been using Launchbox for years with Avast installed. No issues until today... downloaded from your website...
  4. Sorry for the noob question but... I'm curious, do I just extract all those zips into Launchbox/Images or someplace and it knows where to pull the images from? Or do I import these from inside Launchbox? Or do I manually copy each game I want artwork for into a folder for that game. I highly doubt the last option, but, I would like to do this the correct way If some images are now used by default, then I wouldn't need to extract that file at all since I just downloaded Launchbox yesterday... so, kinda confused on what to do. I ducked it (duck duck go) and some people said to dump stuff into Launchbox/Images. Thx!
I haven't seen the artwork yet (except on this page above), but, from how you described what you did, and how long it took, and how much work it took, WOW... thank you! Now, how to use them... will have to figure out where to dump these zips... hmmm....
