  1. thanks c-beats, worked like a charm!
  2. I'm trying to play around with the sort category label divider thingies (I think it's called foreground text?) but I'm having trouble locating it in the xaml files. Anyone know roughly where it is?
  3. The Issue: Sega Model 2 emulator has an option to automatically start in fullscreen, which is nice except it overrides the launchbox startup screen. I know this isn't a bug it's the fullscreen exclusive mode, but there may be ways to workaround Why I care: My goal is to start a model 2 in game fullscreen and go straight to logo/titles so I don't have to look at ram check etc when booting up the game. (The game I am testing with is Vitual-on Cybertroopers.) I realize this is extremely obsessive over detail but every hobbyist is insane to some extent What I tried: tried using ahk to auto load a save state on startup and skip ahead to logos/title screen, but this triggers a popup messge from the emulator which I find aesthetically unpleasant (wish there was a way to turn it off). My comromise solution is to hide the arcade system booting up using the luanchbox startup screen, which looks/feels cleaner. But this brings me back to the original issue. If I could switch to fullscreen using auto hotkey that would solve the problem, but model2 emulator doesn't have a key for toggling fullscreen. I can put winmaximize in the running script, but of course that's not the same as fullscreen and it looks terrible
  4. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G That's what I'm talking about yo
  5. It really bummed me out when I discovered there is an option for background music in big box but not in Launchbox. I want to hear cool tunes while browsing my collection! Hopefully this becomes a feature in a future update of LB... but until then, I have a way to create my own workaround solution HOW TO PUT MENU MUSIC IN LAUNCHBOX step 1 -- create a new folder in your Launchbox folder (I named mine "Kickass Tunes" because I am an immature child) step 2 -- fill this folder with a portable install of foobar step 3 -- in Launchbox: tools > options > startup applications, add your newly created foobar exe file and put /play under command line parameters step 4 -- install this plugin step 5 -- use the plugin to bulk edit every game in your library, as follows: additional apps > add foobar > edit application > put /pause under command line parameters (check yes for "automatically run before..." and "automatically run after") step 6 -- create the dankest playlist you can think of and pop it into your portable foobar install. If done correctly, the playlist should load up every time you open foobar. step 7 -- I HIGHLY reccomend going into foobar and enabling 500 ms fades so the transition in and out of games isn't too abrupt NOTES: you don't have to use a portable version of foobar placed in the Launchbox folder, but I like to do it this way so that everything is self-contained. I've thought about running a second instance of foobar to play ambient arcade sounds on top of the music... just to create that authentic arcade sound space. In theory it should work using the same steps above LIMITATIONS (maybe someone smarter than me can find a solution) 1. Foobar starts playing a couple seconds before Launchbox finishes booting up (doesn't bother me but it would nice if they were synced better) 1. foobar keeps playing after quitting Launchbox (again, doesn't bother me but not as clean as it could be) 2. The /pause command isn't triggered if you launch your game using right click to select from multiple versions
You are truly doing God's work! I hope it's not too presumptious, but I'd like to suggest a feature for future updates. Every time the user loads a save state in Mame, there is a popup message that says "save state sucessfully loaded". I would be so happy if that message disappeared forever! I'm using save states to skip the boot sequence on arcade games, and this popup essentially acts as another nag screen, making it impossible to have a clean and seamless launch. People who use save states to practice certain challenges are also complaining about this popup message, because it blocks visibility on part of the screen and screws up their ability to play.
  6. exactly what I needed, thank you!!!!!!
  7. background: One thing I don't like about arcade roms is having to wait through the bootup screen every time I launch a game. And if I want to configure DIP switch settings, then I have to deal with that every single time as well. Right now my solution is to create a save state that skips past these parts, but I still have to manually load the save every time. I am I hoping there's a way to automate this process.. question: Is there a command line parameter or something I can use with LB to automatically load a save state on launch? I am using MAME and Final Burn Neo for my arcade roms.
