  1. Look in your Launchbox\Updates folder, you will see all the previous versions installers you have downloaded. You can run the version you want (if you have it) and re-install over top of your current LB install and it will be the previous version.

Just be mindful when you run the installer that you install it to the folder above your LB folder. For example if your install of LB is: D:\Launchbox you will want to install to D:\. If you install to D:\Launchbox it will install to a sub folder like this: D:\Launchbox\Launchbox.

  2. It depends on the roms and what version rom set they came from, this will determine which core is compatible with them.

My advice is to always just get a proper up to date Mame rom set from the pleasuredome git page and use the version of Mame that matches that set. It will have all the arcade games including CPS.

With launchbox im using retroarch for the most part, is there a way to integrate the PocketStation and VMU to the games being emulated?

If there is an emulator for those things you can absolutely use them through LB if those emulators support loading of files via command line.
LB doesn't require Retroarch, you can use any emulators you like.

  4. Please do not post links to roms.

A full set is not necessary but is recommended unless you know what you are doing.

Those error messages are telling you exactly what is missing and you need to have those files to go with your games. If you downloaded roms for certain games using a Merged set you will need the bios files as well. If you want to just download individual game roms you will want to use a Non Merged set since those individual zip files are fully functional games with the bios in with it.

  5. Since you have a G27 if you have the shifter for it and hooked up it might be better to map the navigation controls to the dpad and buttons on the shifter.

The fix I believe was to deal with the issue of the pedal axis causing auto scrolling issues in BigBox.

Is there still no fix for this?? Just finished setting up my driving cab only to find out my G27 cannot navigate the menus.

If you haven't updated to LB 12.15 try it out, there was a fix for wheel stuff in it. No idea if it will work for you or not though.

    - Improvement: A new Problematic Controller Compatibility option has been added to Big Box that improves compatibility with non-gamepad controllers such as racing wheels; this option disables binding axes (axises) that are often completely thrown off by pedals and wheels

  7. RA Mame core controls suck, this is why we always recommend using stand alone Mame.

Typically the RA core devs remove all the controller code from emulators and let RAs controller layer take over. But for some reason or another they do not do this with Mame, I am sure they have a valid reason for it but in any case they 2 controller layers fight.

  8. Without any details or links to the patch I can only guess that you have the wrong version of the game the patch requires.

I am guessing you are talking about this patch: https://www.romhacking.net/translations/1682/

    *********************
    PATCHING INSTRUCTIONS
    *********************
The ROM will need to be expanded with a program such as nflate first.
     Expand the PRG-ROM.

Either apply the IPS version of the patch to an original Japanese ROM,
or use a program such as upset (from byuu.org) to apply the UPS version.

And I suppose you know not to apply it to a pre-patched ROM.

This translation was tested on the 1986 version of the ROM, but looking
at the differences between the two, it should be compatible with the 1990
ROM as well. (technically, the only visible difference seems to be the
date on the title screen. The mapper code was also changed slightly.
My guess is the 1986 version ran on a PCB with bus conflicts and the 1990
version did not. The 1990 version also contains a small additional routine
that doesn't appear to serve any useful function: it reads from some address
like $4420 that is believed to be unmapped and then follows with a branch
with a relative offset of 0 (which again appears to be a useless instruction).
