  1. I am able to launch PCSX2 and Retroarch (which both use the same controller) successfully. I tried disabling game controllers via the options and it still crashes on launching Demul. Weird.
  2. Hello, I just started using Demul with LaunchBox 5.10b3. As soon as I launch a game from LB, it crashes. Demul launches and loads the game, but LB crashes. Is there a setting or something I missed setting it up? Is there a log file or something I could supply to troubleshoot? Thanks!
  3. I'm interested in helping mod if you are still looking for people. I have a MLIS and my day job is working with product and eCommerce databases, so I might be able to provide some metadata and taxonomy perspectives if you need them. If nothing else, I can help validate and verify data. I'm very excited to see where you guys take this. This is something long needed in the gaming community.
  4. DOS76 said There wouldn't be any system metadata for Famicom unless you made it your self and put it in the platform folder you can access it through the manage platform option under tools. There are tabs for details, folders and notes so if you had the text information on Super Famicom you would paste it under notes and you can add your platform images in the same way that you would add game images from there. Thanks! I hope someday they automatically add system metadata to the other systems in the future.
  5. DOS76 said I've actually done this for NEC-PC Engine when I decided to split the two platforms up its a pretty good solution to get your data up on the new system It sure beats finding all those damn Japanese covers again it was actually a pretty big job finding them. So, did you ever get the system-level metadata to sync then? I'm a bit confused by Brad's answer.
  6. Thanks Brad. On a related note, how do I get the metadata to load for a platform? I decided to split out my Famicom games from my NES platform, so I created a new platform "Nintendo Famicom" (to match the naming convention). Now how do I get the system image and the metadata to sync/load?
  7. I'm wondering two things about the EmuMovies integration. 1) When EmuMovies creates a new version of a video, is there any mechanism in Launchbox to retrieve the newer version? Is there something that periodically checks existing files to see if there is a newer version? 2) EmuMovies is changing how things are organized. For example, they are breaking out the Super Famicom stuff from the main Super Nintendo set. Do we need to match that setup in Launchbox? Is it smart enough when I import a rom into my "Super Nintendo" section to search EmuMovies Super Nintendo and Super Famicom sections to find a match?
  8. CriticalCid said RL can extract games from 7z, zip or rar files when you start a game. So you can compress your games even if an emulator don’t support these file formats. And no there is absolutely no loss in performance. It just adds at game start some loading time for you to wait until it’s decompressed. It even deletes the temporary extracted files when you quit the game. It also features a customizable fade in and fade out when you start or exit a game, has a pretty decent bezel support for all emulators, features automatically ISO mount and de-mount with Deamon Tools and supports individual xpadder profiles for single games or whole platforms. Furthermore it has a feature called HyperPause. With HP you can pause every emulator even if the emulator doesn’t support it by itself and within the pause menu you can view manuals, guides, etc. Some frontends like HyperSpin need RocketLauncher to work properly. So when former HyperSpin users switch to LaunchBox it’s just more comfortable for them to use their already set up RL then configure everything again in LaunchBox. Yep, for me, I already had it setup for Hyperspin, but then HyperPause, the fades and the bezels are a big draw for me.
  9. Jason Carr said WOOT! Thank you @AladdinSane, that's a huge help. I think I'll put a blog post up for this soon. :D Great! Let me know if you need anything else!
  10. The RocketLauncher setup is standard. Really there are 2 components here, getting things setup in RLUI, meaning you can go to a system and launch a ROM using RL. Setting up the emulators and such through RL is covered in a few places. The challenge is getting LaunchBox to integrate with RL. Here you can see how Launchbox is in the Front End section of RLUI: However, all the systems are setup in RLUI, and you can only see them when that is selected as the default/active FE. Once you get these setup, you should not have to change it to this state, however. Here is my Manage Emulators box. You can see I do not manage everything through RL as of now. That's just a personal preference. I mainly use RL to run anything in Retroarch and manage the shader/configs per system. Here is the Edit Emulator screen: Here is the heart of it, the Associated Platforms that has the command-line to pass to invoke RL, which then knows what config files and emulators to load. I hope this helps. Any Rocket Launcher config guide should be able to help configure your systems on that side, it is agnostic to what you use to call it. Just think of it as a big traffic cop that sits in the middle directing traffic. Once you can successfully launch games using RLUI, it is just a matter of directing Launchbox to call RL instead of the native emulator. If you need anymore screenshots or help, let me know. I'll be busy all day Saturday, but I should be able to post more on Sunday.
  11. fromlostdays said I'm new to launchbox. Is there any way we could make a step by step for integration? I'd even write it myself if I could get it working. Starting on the rocketlauncher side, in the UI, do you have to create another default frontend? Plugin settings? If so, do you have to re-add all your systems? I read about the command line, which got me passed one error but led to another, namely can't find systemname.xml in /databases/systemname/systemname.xml. In my case SNES, I put an xml in the rocketlauncherui/database folder, and one in launchbox/database/snes folder (spelled out, I'm lazy.) I appreciate any advice, and will help with any RL questions I can. Thanks! In RLUI, I have 2 Frontends defined, RLUI and LaunchBox. It's weird, but all the systems are setup in RLUI. When I select Launchbox as the default/active FE, the systems disappear. When I have RLUI as the default/active all the systems appear. There should be a file (Databases/Systems.xml) that will have the System Names. There will also be directories with the system names and XML inside of them. These are the XML databases of the games for the system. In Launchbox, I have RocketLauncher setup as an emulator. In the Associated Platforms, I have the systems defined again, with command lines that point to RL and pass the system name (making sure it matches everywhere). Example: Nintendo 64 is -f "C:\LaunchBox\Launchbox.exe" -p RocketLauncherUI -s "Nintendo 64" -r. This invokes RL and chooses the emulator and the parameters you have setup in RLUI for the system. I hope that helps. If you have anymore questions, please let me know.
  12. Jason Carr said Thanks guys. Hit me up with feedback on the EmuMovies stuff. Looking for as much testing/feedback as I can get on that before the public release. I haven't had any issues, but I'm coming from HyperSpin/RL so I had all my files named correctly to start
  13. tribe fan said Hello, Gonna resurrect this thread. I am a longtime user of RocketLauncher and would love to integrate it into LaunchBox. I'm not quite sure where to start though. Do I add RocketLauncher as an individual emulator? LaunchBox doesn't seem to like it when I try to add emulators that aren't included in the default list. Thanks in advance! Yep, that is exactly what you do. Just follow the above directions. If you have any issues, let me know. I have RL setup for most emulators through Launchbox.
  14. I don't know if I missed this option, but is there an option to have A, An and The ignored when it is displaying games in any sort/lists? For example, I would rather see "The Last Blade" in the L section, than under a big mass of "The" games. Thanks!
