  1. Are the shutdown, sleep and restart buttons new in BigBox mode or did I never notice them before?
  2. I would definitely love to see this feature in Big Box. I have just built an arcade cabinet and have got Big Box on it and an attract mode would be awesome as I love to have my cab on the Arcade platform and every 35 seconds or so it would scroll down the list for a set time and randomly stop on a game and start playing the video.
  3. I am not sure if this is a new bug or not that was introduced in the new beta or if this is how it is supposed to work but while I am in Big Box and I choose View Series,View Genre and etc. or anything in the view category in BB and then I hit the back button in Big Box it does not allow me to go back. For instance if I click on "View Genre" and then hit esc to get out of that screen and then click the Back button in Big Box it goes back to the View Genre screen instead of going back to the platform screen. Hitting ESC also does the same thing.

    RocketLauncher

I just wanted to add that I would have never even tried out launchbox if it did not work with rocketlauncher with me already having everything all set up and I am sure I am not alone on this. I am glad it was easy to use the two of them together because LB has become my new favorite frontend because of this. Again with users coming from hyperspin which is arguably the most popular frontend out there (which I can see that changing very soon with LB being actively developed for and with Jason listening and considering the users feedback), RL is an easy jumping on point for hyperspin users to try out LB. As djvj said they are even looking at making an official launchbox plugin which is going to make the transition from hyperspin even easier. Again not suggesting anyone is saying this but for new users reading, launchbox and rocketlauncher are not in competition which each other as they are two different programs trying to achieve different results and can work in unison with each other to give the user an even better experience, especially those transitioning over from hyperspin.
  5. The sound on the video stops now when you are changing from one platform to another but I see a new problem. For an example if a video is playing for game on the snes platform and then you choose the sega genesis platform the sound from the video stops like it is supposed to unless you choose manage emulators from the tools menu and then when you hit close on the manage emulators menu the sound from the video will start playing again from the previous snes platform even though you are on the sega genesis platform now.
  6. Tested out the new beta and I am having the same problem scree is having with the video still playing when you launch a game to play it but I see most of the other issues with the videos have been sorted out. Thanks!!
  7. I'm curious about that as well. Last night I imported all my exodos collection to LB and used emumovies and the gamesdatabase for my art and such and there is a lot of missing art that those sites don't have. I looked in my meagre folder and noticed that it had a lot of missing artwork that I need and was wondering what was the best and easiest way of get this imported into LB?
  8. Great addition...I can confirm the sidebar videos are working for me also. The only thing I see wrong so far is when a video is playing on one system and you click on another system the video sound is still playing until the video ends or you click on another game, but clicking from game to game on the same system works fine on my end.

    RocketLauncher

I feel like Rocketlauncher is very beneficial and I have used it for many years with hyperspin, retrofe and now launchbox. I have mine set up perfect for myself with all the emulators already setup. These features have already been mentioned but being able to use bezels, fade and pause support and have your emulators all set up in one place and configured how you want them is amazing. Already having RL setup, it has made setting up launchbox a breeze for me because all my emulators have been setup already along with everything pointed correctly at files and folders. Especially for someone who uses multiple frontends you just point RL at the frontend and you are all setup. To me LB and RL are a perfect match and I love using the setup together. RL is not all that hard to setup once you get your feet wet with it and is being actively developed for. It has a great wiki page to help you get started. Check it out and look at some of the features to see if any of them interest you.
  10. Jason Carr said Not currently, but I can review that to see if we can integrate it or similar. Can you get me that XML file for review? I am not sure if imgema got a xml over to you or not but that would be an awesome feature in order to use a hyperspin xml file to weed out the junk. Basically if you use Don's Hyperspin Tools (it is a program that makes it real easy that you can rename roms or create your own xml files among many other things) it is a program that makes it really easy to weed out mame clones, adult games, bios, mahjong, etc. and you can include anything or remove anything you wish and then it will generate a xml file. Also some example clones that you want to keep are pacman and tmnt2po (2 player version of tmnt) and etc. It was originally created for hyperspin but the xml files it creates can be used with any frontends that has the ability to read xml files. In fact I have all my xml files located in the database folder inside of Launchbox so Rocketlauncher can read them to get the info for the fade and etc. that rocketlauncher uses when I use LB. I imported my mame games last night in LB and chose all the options to remove clones, bios and etc. and while it removed the majority of it , it still left a lot of junk behind that I need to figure out how to remove. If it had the ability to read an xml file that already had the stuff you don't want removed that would be awesome!
  11. Ah...that was the problem as I did not choose MAME as the emulator because I chose rocketlauncher since I run all my games through it. So I did the force MAME metadata and it worked...thanks!
  12. I am not getting that screen that you posted "How would you like to import your Mame games" when I am trying to import my mame games. I read in another thread that you had to click beta mode in options which I have done and still not getting that screen option. Do I have to have my mame roms folder named something particular to get that screen to pull up? Thanks.
  13. That does sound like a great feature for someone using a keyboard. But for someone like myself who is planning on putting LB Big Box as my frontend on my arcade cabinet and who would be using a joystick and not a keyboard, a nice feature in BB mode would be able to press right or left with the joystick on the game selection screen to jump letters in the alphabet to get to the game you want to play rather than scrolling all the way down the list. For instance if I wanted to play a game on the Sega Genesis that started with a S, instead of scrolling all the way down to get to the S's I could just press right to jump letters in the alphabet until I got to the S games or press left to go backwards in the alphabet. BTW: I have just upgraded to premium and I have been enjoying it so much and wanted to say thanks for all the work you have put into this awesome program!
  14. I have just recently learned about this awesome frontend and am very impressed. I just currently own the free version and would love to try out premium. This seems like a great community with an awesome developer who listens to his users. Thanks for all your hard work!!
