  1. Or if you wish not to copy all the artwork into the LB folder and want to save on space, you can just point LB to the folder already in your hyperspin media folder that contain the wheels in the LB platform options menu. Then refresh the image cache in BB options menu and will be good to go.
  2. Found a bug. I didnt notice it right away until I refreshed my image cache. My Wii platform clear logo that I have had since I started using BB all of a sudden is super small on the platforms wheels view. The quality of the logo is 2000 x 909 pixels.
  3. I am loving the new game wheels view!! It is awesome!!
  4. VLC is working great on my setup so far! As a side note I am still not getting asked to update to the newest beta in BB in the New Wheels view. It works in LB and the Default BB view.
  5. I am having an issue that I am not getting the popup that asks me to update to the newest beta in the new wheels view so I have to switch over to launchbox to get the newest beta. I do get the popup in the BB default view and now it is asking me if I would like to update to the newest beta even though I have already tried 3 times. Launchbox is fine and showing I am on beta 10 but everytime I enter BB it ask me to update and shows I am on beta 9 and just keeps doing this over and over.
  6. I am really liking the new cache refresh in the options menu as it sure beats trying to figure out which cache file to delete in the launchbox folder to get new images to show up. Thanks for the update!
  7. The new wheels view is outstanding! The wheels flow very smoothly and continuous and makes BB look even better visually. This is my new go to default view. I know this might sound stupid but I just sat there and kept spinning the wheel over and over giving it a good test and admired how much this frontend has came in such a short period of time. Although I will not be using the coverflow view that often I did test it out and the boxes are so much clearer now and look great. The only bug I noticed is when you press F in coverflow, BigBox gives an error code but I think this has already been reported on bitbucket. I, along with I am sure everyone here appreciate all that you do in constantly improving BB and adding more features visually as well as funtionality!!
  8. SentaiBrad said An image quality slider or quality check boxes should be fine right? Yes,that should be fine. A slider or a check box would be great in the options menu. That way users with not as powerful pc's can reduce the quality so they don't lose performance and those of us with a more powerful pc can raise the level way up to enjoy the best quality image.
  9. Jason Carr said The blurry-ness of the CoverFlow boxes is mostly just to help with performance (the images are indeed smaller than the way they're displayed). I wasn't sure how well it would perform on lower end systems, so I compromised a bit. I can probably put in a setting to change this though. That would be great if you could put in a setting to make them cleaner looking. That was one of the things I disliked about hyperspin is it seems like so much of the artwork is blurry due to hyperspin's max 1024 x 768 capability.
  10. Klamp said Jason Carr said Beta 4 is now out; it mostly just fixes the aforementioned bugs above. Please let me know if anyone is still seeing any Big Box errors or crashes. Thanks! Navigation with controllers work in Cover flow. -Controller buttons does not work for play game, view images. -Error message when pressing I, F, M or P on keyboard in coverflow. Big Box still works after the errorwindow is closed. -Not sure if its me but it seems like the cover images are somehow blurred compared to the original cover images. I think the reason why your cover images are blurred is because the images are blown up to a bigger size and the image quality pixel is not high enough to support the bigger zoomed in look but I could be wrong. Mine are the same way and appear blurred as well. I would actually prefer them to be less zoomed in.
  11. Awesome...great job,that sounds like a really cool feature!
  12. @Jason I have another idea to implement in the default view and I am not sure how hard it would be to implement for bigbox. I wish I was good at photoshop and I would create it for you. Here is a video by a guy over at the hyperspin forums that has made the gamecube boxes a kind of animated and I think this would be an awesome feature for bigbox for all the game boxes to flip from front to back automatically. I know you can flip the box in the second game selection screen but I rarely go into that second game launching screen at just launch my games from the first screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCBySfMwyoU Also gameex has a feature that is similar to that with the mame games that has some high quality actual arcade cabinets pics of the game does a 3d animated spin. I think that would be a great alternative to the arcade flyers is to have a high quality pic of the actual arcade cabinet, for example (pacman) do a 3d 360 animated spin.
  13. Thanks for the new beta Jason! Some things I notice with the new beta is that when I go into options and then hit esc to back out it seems very stuttery almost like its struggling with a fps drop or something and my speakers sound out a little poping noise for a slight second. Kinda hard to explain and it seems to only happen with the options menu. I have a very beefy pc so I know thats not an issue. Also coverflow seems very sluggish, maybe it needs time to build a cache or something. I agree that alpha numeric definitly needs to be implemented in these new views. As it stands coverflow is very plain right now but does have potential. Right now I am still liking the default bigbox view the best still. I think a lot of people that use bigbox want that arcade type feeling view mode especially those that are coming over from hyperspin or maybe will be using it on an arcade cabinet and coverflow seems more like something for an htpc. I think that once we get that view mode nailed down whatever that may be thats gives the arcade type experience even more hyperspin users will be coming over here in droves. CriticalCid has some great ideas especially in that other thread that he linked to up above.
  14. I tested the new letter jumping feature and everything seems to be working great thus far. This is a great feature that I have been waiting for a long time! Thank you @Jason
  15. Awesome idea...I am really looking forward to the system videos and you got some really great ideas there!
  16. The original Legend of Zelda for the NES.
  17. Very nice work indeed, and I agree, this has got to be the best mame tool out there that does all that it does and is very easy to use also and it just keeps getting better and better!! Sounds awesome!!
  18. @Jason The new changes to the mame importer are waaaaay better than they were before! I imported with it last night and it got rid of 95% of the junk that it used to leave before. I can also tell that the quality and quanity of the flyers improved also. There are still some games that either don't have flyers or are displaying "hyperspin" game theme screenshots for the flyer or is showing a screenshot that has nothing to do with the game. I am sure that is because there are no quality flyers out there for certain games or something to that effect. I am sure us as a community can work together to fill in some of the missing flyers or wrong ones and get it corrected. Me for one,I do not like to see an empty space with the launchbox logo. Even if there is not a flyer for the game I would rather see maybe a pic of the actual arcade cabinet or maybe a nice screenshot of the game. Thanks for the update!
  19. That would be a cool feature to be able to give the platforms a custom name before importing as I like mine to be called Arcade as well. I actually would like if all the Capcom CPS 1,2 and 3 where all together in one platform called Capcom Classics or maybe Capcom Arcade Classics. The main reason why I like it this way is I have BigBox on an arcade cabinet and when people come over to play it they don't know what MAME or CPS is. BTW: The wizard GUI is looking awesome!
  20. SentaiBrad said Replace the Sounds in the sound folder. In your LB Root folder is "Sounds", that is what Big Box uses. Yes, I know where the sounds folder is, I was just wondering if they need to be in a wav format? I assume they do because when I tried to put a mp3 file in the sound folder and rename it to "move", when I restarted big box it just recreated the move.wav folder. The only way I could get it to work is to convert my mp3 file to a wav file and rename it to "move" and it worked in big box.
  21. I generally like the sounds that are included with bigbox which is the back, move and select sounds. But over a period of time they can start to become a little bit overbearing and kind of annoying especially the "move" sound when scrolling through a large list of games quickly. I know you can turn the sounds off but I would like to be able to change the sounds to something a little bit more subtle. Do the sounds have to be in a wav format or can they be in mp3 format and what details do you reccomend the bit rate and etc. to be at for optimal quality? Not bashing the sounds but sometimes my ears can become overly sensitive
  22. I am really looking forward to it since I just set up my arcade with new led buttons!
  23. Thank you for that,it seems to work great!
  24. I did notice something else as I only wanted the mame and neo geo platforms imported so I only put check marks in those 2 boxes. I wanted the cps1,cps2,and cps3, included in with the mame platform but I noticed that none of these games got imported because I unchecked the boxes. I think cave and the rest of the platforms did not get imported either.
  25. Thank you very much for tracking down that problem for me as the new version works great! You have some great talent creating this importer tool and are an all star!!
