Hi everybody, I'm on the latest 7.8 build. Lately, when i load a retroarch core from Bigbox it sometimes (about 1 in 5 times) wont load properly. What happens instead is that the screen goes blank, if i click a button I can here Bigbox noises, but nothing else happens. However, if i alt tab I can find retroarch running my game, I can then play it and exit normally. I'm wondering if this is a known bug or some weird setting I have in bigbox or retroarch. I havent noticed it happening in other emulators, but to be honest, I use retroarch the most.

Hmm, A tad more information would be great, but my guess would be your pointing launchbox at the wrong exe. There should be a couple of exe's in your mame plus folder, one is to run the gui the other is for frontends like launchbox. Try the other exe

Hi, I use mame plus plus and am happy to help...but you need to be a bit more specific. What is the problem? Are roms not loading or is Mame not loading?

Hi Stevencostner, I had the same issue with most skins, it turns out that this is a requested feature from some people...yeah i dont get it either lol. Anyways to kill it, go into you themes folder, click on the theme that has it and look for another folder called 'views'. Right click the file called 'WheelGamesView', edit it was a text editor and delete the lines that mention this feature, Something like "show psx and arcade rom names", not 100% sure what it says as ive deleted mine...this sounds complex, but it really isnt.

Hi, I'm on the latest beta and ive noticed games have gone back to being sorted by 'the' and 'a' etc. For example: to find 'The legend of Zelda' i now need to jump to letter 'T' not 'L'. Is this a bug? or is there an option to toggle this feature somewhere? Warm regards

Hi Jason, I am located in Australia. Small files work no problem, but for whatever reason larger ones always fails around 50%. My network is stable and i have tried a friend's network and my mobile, all fail around 50%...is quite strange Appreciate any help.

Hi, I really like the look of the Cinematic 1080p videos that Nyny77 made. However, I cant download them. Every time i try, it gets to about 50% then fails. I have tried multiple browsers and different networks, all have different antivirus/firewall configs...so I dont think its that. Anyone know what it could be? Cheers

Hi, I have an unpopular setup with my shaders. I use them to smooth out visuals and remove pixel edges...i know it is terrible lol :). Anywho, even as a child of the 80's and being extremely nostalgic with games, i just dont get scan lines, but to each their own. I use a filter called sabr, really knocks the pixels out cold when ran at 2x, then i run a blur filter to take away some of the harshness, to me that is perfection, but it really is personal taste.

Hi Playpopo, I was the same as you, looking for a trail before laying down the money for Bigbox. What i can tell you is that after making the purchase Bigbox has exceeded all my expectations and runs flawlessly. I would also be happy to answer any queries you have about it, but as someone who has toyed with other frontends like hyperspin, Bigbox is 100 times easier to setup and a joy to use :)

howdy, Yup is no easy way to have kodi in true fullscreen and bigbox min/max properly...as far as i know. However, im 99% sure adv launcher has an option that when u load a program (such as big box) rather than suspend or min kodi it completley exits out of it, then when you exit bigbox, advlauncher loads kodi again. This of course adds a few seconds at least to loading kodi. Also not 100% sure how that would work with a shell of kodi? but is worth a shot :D

hmm no expert but it does sound like it is relating to you using a shell for kodi, like kodi doesn't minimize properly to allow bigbox control, which results in no sound.....just a guess though. Going back to advanced launcher, i think i didnt explain myself well there lol, happens a lot :), you can use adv laucnher to point to ur install of bigbox and it will launch it identical to the big box app, but with the benefit that adv launcher has a few more options that may solve your problem. So, if it was me i would grab adv launcher, point it to load bigbox, and play with some options, if that works, would be identical to ur current setup, but with sound :) .....again im no expert though, just thinking about what i would try if i was in ur situation.

In kodi big box addon under advanced is an option: suspend kodi audio when launching big box...was thinking yours could be ticked and bugging out the audio? just a thought :) Oh and my setup is weird i guess, but i have my main computer in my bedroom, it is always hooked up to a tv and a monitor via hdmi. I use the monitor for work/uni stuff and the tv for movies and games. I control everything on the tv with a 360 controller, so if i click the 2 thumbsticks windows knows to launch kodi etc, just a few basic xpadder setups :). Once in kodi i never need a keyboard and mouse and i use big box app to launch pc games etc

Howdy Nope i dont use a shell for my kodi, but I think in the bigbox app there is an option to stop Kodi audio, you dont have that ticked do you? Also, advanced launcher is another app launcher that is worth a go, it has a few more options and might fix the muted sound.

Hi Paynemaster If you run Kodi in window fullscreen mode, the app will work fine and kodi will pop back up like a champ :). The only setting it doesnt seem to work with is if kodi is set to true fullscreen mode. Anywho, the settings are under system and then video in kodi.

Hi, Depends what you want to use as "covers". I personally use flyers, but i know others use images of the cabinet or whatever instead. I use emumovies for mine, with the built in d/load tool in launchbox it is quick and easy, but in the past i have used the complete pack from here http://www.progettosnaps.net/flyers/ that site also has complete snapshots and other cool things :) Hope this helps

Thanks for pic.....no I dont have that space at all, and i just had a look around the options and cant seem to find anything that could make it. I sort of remember awhile back having something like that space, and it turned out it was caused by adding a game without a platform specified and it sorta bugged out like that. Like how it says it has 2 games for your blank space, makes me feel like you might have something similar, not sure... am far from an expert lol :)

Hi SentaiBrad, Thanks for quick reply :) But i dont seem to have a blank line at the top of my bigbox setup, when it loads if i click up or highlight up, it goes to the bottom of my list of emulators, i dont seem to have a space or see any favs...although i could be missing something basic :)

Thanks for replies, Hmm maybe it isnt possible without an update. Maybe if an "all" tab is added to bigbox mode, the same one that Launchbox has, then it might be easier to do, oh well was just a thought :)

Hi everybody, Am loving Bigbox :), but was wondering if there was a way to add a favorites menu in the platform listing? Like an option when ticked it would compile all my favorites from all the various platforms and display them under one tab, i know i can display all my favs with a custom filter, but i think it would be fantastic to have it as either a quick launch button in bigbox, or displayed as a "favorites" platform, so i can quickly view all the games i love to play from across all platforms, but it might be a silly idea.

Hi, I'm also curious if there has been any fix for the kodi staying minimized issue? I too use kodi in true full-screen mode (it works better on my machine with that setting), but it means kodi doesn't restore properly when exiting bigbox with the kodi app. thanks

Thanks for the quick replies, It is the windows mouse cursor that stays active for me and right in the middle of the screen of all places! This is on Windows 10 and just for Demul. Ive tried the most recent versions of Demul, they still have the issue for me. I tried testing, as one user said, to start demul in a window and then press alt enter, and indeed this does hide the cursor. But if i go into demul options and tick start in fullscreen it will always show the cursor...weird. Ideally im after a way to have demul start in fullscreen with no cursor, or a console command or something to press alt enter automatically, so i can play games with ease with just a controller in big box mode :) Thanks again
