How can I fix when Launchbox picks incorrect metadata from Launchbox Games Database? For instance, one example I just noticed. It tagged both Duke Nukem I (240160) & Duke Nukem 3D (359850) as Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition - LaunchBox Games Database that also exists in Steam, but is neither the games I have (225140) And whatever I tried to edit, it would just go back to the 6 versions of the game listed in launchbox Games Database, instead of picking metadata from Steam... There's no way to fix this? Wouldn't be possible to pick info from steamDB?

I just found I can audit the games and "combine" them, so guess you can manage a bit On the other hand, this made me aware launchbox is tagging incorrectly games due it relaying only in launchbox game database. For instance, it tagged both Duke Nukem I (240160) & Duke Nukem 3D (359850) as Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition - LaunchBox Games Database that also exists in Steam, but is neither the games I have (225140) And whatever I tried to edit, it would just go back to the 6 versions of the game listed in launchbox Games Database, instead of picking metadata from Steam...

So there's no easy way? Guess this becomes a FR then Really believe this should be explored; versioning is each passing day more habitual (just with the repeated free games you get from prime, epic,...). If you rely on auto-importers, you can get a dozen of repeated games. In Playnite you've got the Duplicate Hider extension that prioritizes one and lets you pick the rest in dropdown: felixkmh/DuplicateHider As well as UI integration for theme devs, I find this a pretty good approach. I was thinking of something similar to the new "versions" support for movies in Kodi. When you add a movie already existing, it asks if it's a separate entry or a "version". Then you can either treat it like a folder (a collection), or when clicking on the movie, it asks you which one you want to play. For games, I envision it as somewhat more difficult, as, in a perfect image, I would like FF to appear with an SNES cover when browsing SNES games and a GBA one when browsing those ^^'. Maybe tagging a version with a cover? dunno.

is there any way to manage versions of the same game besides not importing deleting? i would like to be able to have different versions in same entry. for instance, Final Fantasy VI... have the original SNES, PSX, GBA and PC pixel versions in just a single entry or games I've got in steam, epic and gog...

I love how well the Colorful simplified theme works in ES-DE. Although it was originally a Launchbox theme, it works way better (for me as a user) in that other frontend. Would be possible to replicate how it works there? The scrolling directions, loading, etc. I don't know whether it's a system limitation or not explored yet. Thanks!

Well, as a new owner of a steamdeck I would love to see launchbox there too. Steamdeck is getting a bigger emulation/retrogaming community every day. You have emudeck, recently ported to windows, to make everything very straightforward. And it goes with emulationstation and pegasus-fe. I hope you get on the train someday, I would gladly pay for my third license to use it on the steamdeck natively.

They should be the same size of a nes jp box (unless I miss sized the first one 😅🙈) I like that every system has its kind of box, what bugs me is having different sized inside the same system 🥲 Don't get me wrong, I did them for myself, and for myself, I'm not doing it again for SNES. 😅 I expected mot JP SNES games to be vertical (although just 2 of mines have that orientation), but they are not. That makes it way more complicated… I still have to decide whether I'll keep going or not because it's a lot of work, and TODAY I'm not feeling it worth. Thanks for the kind words.

I won't lie, I'm disappointed at how little interest this has aroused. I suppose it doesn't look as good as I though 😅 Guess I will pick whatever game for the 100th just to end the set, and forget about doing any more… 🥲

Johnnydement started following FR: forced landscape mode and Custom NES covers

Hi, I love frontends, and specially Launchbox 🙃, but one of the things that bugs me is box selection, specially when each zone has a different layout… so I decided to start my custom box project with very little rules: Normally, I prefer original JP art, but it's not carved in stone. Give as much space as possible for cover art. I can't read Japanese, even if my life depends on it. So I want Latin characters; therefore, Western game logo (if it exists) EU/US/JP Mixed System Logo Developer These rules are not set in stone and I decided to ignore them whenever I felt like it. Faxanadu is an example, as I dislike it's JP art, so I made a mix. Or Power blade 2, where I used fanart, as editing the original case art was too much work. So I started with NES. These games may not be the best, but this set is a mix of the ones that I own, the ones that I like and the ones that are prequels for some other games in other sets. I curated a 100 games selection, but seems I'm missing one… Therefore, it's up to you to decide what will be the 100th game completing the set. you can get them individually also on deviantart, where I will be posting future sets also till they are completed like this one. Please, don't take it as criticism, as it was in fact the contrary, I really like the new skin in this release. Basically, is not a slowdown, but launchbox takes quite a while to load every time, I run it on an M.2. Also, when changing from one game to another in a crowded system. I've just formatted the computer, but will do a video comparing if you want.

Just logged to say I'm pretty impressed with the default looks on latest version, congratulations It's been a while I've started to explore other frontends as pegasus, as although launchbox makes everything quite easy, it's a bit slow (for me), these new looks may make me stay, let's see when I add all games So, in sum, pretty impressed, congratulations!

Yep, but it doesn't always follow. At least in MIUI 13, launchbox sometimes appears in portrait mode, and doesn't change to landscape.

Really? What a shame 😑 Would be great to have a real smart N-gage ðŸ¤

My phone keeps getting default to portrait mode and there's no way to change... Would be great for launchbox to be able to enforce landscape mode.
