  1. I also vote dump WMP!, I never used in Windows anyway.....
  2. @Jason Carr, I was manually deleting NDS games from my LB collection, by filtering games by keyword, manually selecting games, and then it crashed. Not sure if the database for the NDS got corrupted somehow, because as soon as I tried to repeat those steps it happens again. Seems like it could be something related whit the combination of filtering games, multi-select them (control+ left click), and scrolling the search results....... 3. Agree, this could be also a good alternative. In this case at least all background images are standardized in quality and size, as they all come from the same source. The Ingame snaps, are not, as I think the native resolution of each game had something to do with it, but they could surely fill gaps for games that do not have these images already. I know Jason is working like crazy on LB v7, maybe after that I can send him all the images, or least the backgrounds, and upload them to the database.
  4. @Jason Carr, just had a crash while importing the NES roms, I switched to another platform and change the Image view to list view, then got this message: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: LaunchBox.exe Application Version: 6.12.0.0 Application Timestamp: 580665ee Fault Module Name: ntdll.dll Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.23539 Fault Module Timestamp: 57c99b8f Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 000000000004f524 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: f15b Additional Information 2: f15b4f71c73c290339f8cf4d954d9979 Additional Information 3: 09d1 Additional Information 4: 09d10f797ce73ae4ac2e945bc98ff5db Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt
  5. yes it would be very helpful, but I think Jason is planning to allow users to feed images and metadata right from your own Launchbos collection, so if you manually add cover, it should also feed them to the database in case it does not exist!. Anyway, hopefully there is a way to batch feed all these images so everyone can use them.
  6. Hi everyone, I would like to contribute with background and in-game images for the available games in GOG.com, I have two questions, the first (probably directed to the DB moderators), what image naming would be the most useful for uploading these to the Games DB? For example, the Chronicles of Riddick game (Chronicles of Riddick Dark Athena) I could either rename the downloaded images as “CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK: ASSAULT ON DARK ATHENA, THE “ (This would be closest to the official game title. BUT NOTE, for this particular case, the GOG.com naming places “the” at the end and not the beginning of title as found in most web sources). Or “the_chronicles_of_riddick_assault_on_dark_athena” (same name used at the game’s webpage linked above. Images are already named this way, but I could rename to the above if needed) And second question, and this is where Jason may need to step in, how can I batch upload all the renamed images to the database?. The total is over 1.7K background images for the the available game and soundtracks, plus I could also upload in-games for each as in the examples below.
  7. wow, they look awesome! My observations, -not sure if intended or still not finished, but for N64, the "64" has an odd animation, it seems to rotate separate from the "N" and off to the side, it just seems a little weird to me. Probably I would rotate the whole logo, without moving the 64 part. -GameCube, like the moving cube, but I think something that drew the logo, like for the atomiswave, could look better and keep the original logo. Also the font used, is different from the original. -Atomiswave, just great! my favorite so far -NeoGeo, also looks great, but seem to be off center. great job!!
  8. Thanks for the info @Zombeaver. I already scrapped a lot of data that would help to improve the GamesDB, @Jason Carr is already aware of this, but I also know his plate is full at the moment with all the development LB and BB have gone through. So I was wondering if there was such a tool that would allow to create and feed data in big batches, so that myself and with the help of other moderators that wanted to participate, could upload and help on that side. Will keep in contact with Jason about it and see if there is a tool available that could be used.
  9. Hi @Zombeaver, just wondering do moderator have an option to create new data fields for games? For example if I would like to add more info to a game such as alternate title, or region, media type, etc? Is this something you have control of, or is this something that Jason need to add in order to become available for users submissions? Also, is there a way to batch upload data in case these new data fields could be added, or it would have to be done individually for each game? Thanks
  10. @Jason Carr, really like the new forum, has a much better look and faster response! One question, what happened to all the posts over page 100th in the old beta thread ? There was a suggested new LB view in page 106 that a couple of users including myself really liked (I thanked the creator of the mock-up, but don't remember his user name. it combined details+cover images views). I really don't want that idea to be left out in the dark.
  11. Just and idea, programs like CCleaner for Windows, when using the formatting tool it shows a confirmation dialog requesting the user to actually type the word "ERASE" (in uppercase), to avoid deleting files with accidental enter key presses. Something like this, could let the user know that they will actually Delete or Erase the selected contents in LB and prevent mistakes.
  12. Lmagnus87 said New Kind of View for Launchbox or maybe BigBox Really like this view, probably I would suggest to make the area for each game bigger (probably twice the size, or user resizable) to get a better glimpse of the art, and more game info. And besides displaying a larger cover art when hovering the mouse pointer over, probably there could be a play icon next to the cover art, so that it would play the video when hovering the mouse as well.
  13. To be hones, I haven't tried yet, so I can't confirm how it works. Maybe other user can help further. @administrators, not sure if there is a thread exclusive for all the tools related to LB, BB and emulator config. but maybe a new forum section could be created for this use, so all tools and discussions could be easier to find and organized?
  14. here you go the LaunchBox.plugin
  15. Jason Carr said Justified I'm hoping the issue you were seeing was just due to a crappy 64-bit version of LibVlc we were using. I've updated it to hopefully resolve that error. Let me know if it's working for you now. Thanks Jason, I already tested in v6 b14 with VLC and WMP, in both cases videos playback just fine and the menu and game browsing lag seems to be gone as well!
