yes sure i use SDL version ( i tried the D3D9 version too) and in Rendering the OpenGL is enabled. But the glsl shaders cause the crash (ok you said that it is normal because not supported) and the cgp filters don't have any effect as I show you above...:( And as you see at the bottom in this picture, the message that appears everytime i load a .cg shader And same thing happens even if i Try the D3D9 version, same message at bottom of the screen if i try to load a .cg shader. thanks

thanks. I tried 3 different glsl filters: crt-royale-kurozumi, crt-aperture and 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian but with all them PuNes crashes immediately...i don't know why..!? I tried the same 3 filters but .cgp and puNes doesn't crashes but the effect the 3 filters is always the same...and a message appears: "errors on shaders, use 'no filter'. But I have selected Shaders Effects =NO FILTERS so it is already ok! I don't know why it appears this message...

Thanks. I downoaded the SDL version If so, i think that the best option in order to emulate a crt effect is the Shader = CRT Scanlines. I tried all the other Shader and filters but they aren't good for me. I currently playing with Nestopia in Retroarch with 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp shader and it is really really good! And with Nestopia stand-alone too, with this settings https://s9.postimg.org/vjgpkvven/Immagine.png and it is good. It seems that PuNes hasn't a so good video filter/shader.. Here the comparison between the 3 emulators: 1) Retroarch with Nestopia: https://s16.postimg.org/seixsjhcl/Immagine4.png 2) Nestopia: https://s12.postimg.org/56bbrstt9/Immagine3.png 3) PuNes with CRT Scanlines activated: https://s7.postimg.org/l0yhq6erf/Immagine6.png I tried to load the same shader that i'm using on Retroarch (2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp) but in PunNes the result is totally different: https://s1.postimg.org/44etrqewf/Immagine7.png So, with this filter enabled, I have enabled Interpolation too and this is the result: https://s2.postimg.org/dbjz6z5a1/Immagine8.png. But not good as Retroarch or Nestopia I tried to load crt-aperture,cgp too but the effect is identical to the 2 screenshot of the 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp, without Interpolation and with interpolation!!! I don't know why...it seems that PuNes doesìt detect the differences between the 2 shaders... can you help me? thanks!

ok thanks. So if I want the SDL version i have to download and install SDL libraries, am I right? From here: https://www.libsdl.org/download-2.0.php I suppose i have to download the Rutime binaries for Windows 64 bit. Is it correct? Or the Source code? many thanks

Thanks. Ther SDL version is better? Currently i have Reotrarch 1.4.0 but i see that 1.5.0 is already out and 1.5.1 is incoming. I don't know if PuNes it will be inclueded in the new Retroarch version... In any case, did you took the same shader "aperture" (in RetroArch\shaders\shaders_glsl\crt folder) and put it in PuNes folder? In Nestopia (v.148 in Retroarch) I use 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp filter (in RetroArch\shaders\shaders_cg\cgp folder) and it is really good for Nestopia I think. I know aperture, it is good too.

thanks! Now i asked in that forum wich is the difference between "win64 SDL" or "win64 D3D9" versions. I want to try PuNes. I tried Mesen but i didn't find any filters or shader in order to obrain the same crt effect like in Higan of Nestopia (i use it in Retroarch adn i find a good setting). In mesen i tried all the filters but none of them is like a crt effect

ah thanks! 1) Do you think that this is the rigt page where i can downlaod the latest PuNes? https://github.com/punesemu/puNES 2) and the BizHawk is here https://github.com/TASVideos/BizHawk ? And Mesen here: https://www.mesen.ca/index.php#Downloads 3) Are there any screenshot where i can compare the differences (if it is possible...) between these 3 emulators? I read that Mesen misinterprets the 8:7 aspect ratio as a display aspect ratio when it should be a pixel aspect ratio, resulting in an improperly stretched display. Is it true? 4) I read here http://tasvideos.org/EmulatorResources/NESAccuracyTests.html that puNes has 98.08% and BizHawk 100% . But BizHawk is a line command emulator? And what is "Amount" at the top of the list? It has 100%. Is it Mesen? thanks!

Hi i'm searching for the best Nes emulator and actually i have configured Nestopia in Retroarch. But i read that Higan (taht is, i think, the best for super nes) is really good for nes too. But i read about this puNes, and it seems that it is the best choice for Nes emulator, am I right? Which is the latest release? I don't find the official hompage. It seems that 0.98 is the latest release? Where can I download the latest version? thanks!

well now i have 70GB free and probably i can save additional 30GB so i will have 100GB free. Usually I don't have full set, only form MAME I have it, without videos. In Launchbox i want to downalod videos for MAME too (i have platinum account in emumovie) so i think that it is better to use the HDD drive in order to install launchbox.. Do you think that it is possible to improve performances even if i use an HDD drive?

Hi guys in my pc i have my C disk that is an SDD hard disk (250GB but only 30/40 free) and a normal HDD (2.70 TB). All my emulators and roms are in the HDD disk. Do you think that i can install Launchbox directly in the HDD hard disk or is it better to install it in the SDD hard disk? It is quicker for sure but i only have 30 GB free son i can't put here all the emulators, roms and extra-files that i will download with launchbox (video, images, and so on). What do you suggest? If I install Launchbox in my HDD drive do you think that it will have good performances in any case even if if it isn't in an SDD drive? thanks!

great! I will wait 7.8, no problem This is the best solution i think. I can create my Neo Geo list and use the same romset of MAME In any case i will try the 1st method too, if it works correctly even if i use clrmame. Don't worry, i will do a backup copy
-
ah great! so 1st method: if i use the NeoGeo Copy Zip.bat, i'm sure that in any case when i run clrmame in order to verify my fullromser, it will not delete the new folder named neogeo, am I right? 2nd method: great, so after the import in bigbox of MAME full set, i can create my own playlist with all Neo Geo games?!? Great!! This feature will be add to Launchobx 7.8 if i'm not wrong?! thanks

Hi i have the MAME 0.183 full set and i would like to add it to launchbox. I know that it is possible, am I right? I tried a lot of emulator and MAME is the best emulator for neo geo games too so i would like, in addition, to visualize the Neo Geo games list separately. Is it possible? Or have i to configure a 2nd MAME folder, with ONLY the neo geo games and then add it to Launchbox? It would be more easy and comfortable to add to Launchbox only the MAME full set and if possible to visualize the Neo Geo list when i want, as a separate emulator. If this isn't possible I think that i have to creare a 2nd MAME folder specifically with only neo geo games and add it to Launchbox/BigBox... thank you!

thanks! I have configured Demul, it seems good! But nullDC too it seems really good. I noticed that for example some games are better in nullDC (games from NGdev in particular) and others games are better in nullDC. In Launchbox/Big Box if I want I can add both emulators even if they are referred to the same system, am I right? Launchbox consider them as 2 different emulators of different systems, am I right? Last question: if I want to change some video setting in DEMUL (i noticed that some games are better with a particular video plugin), i can't do this change directly from lauchbox, is it correct? First i run Demul and i change the video setting; then i run launchbox and i run finally Demul. is it correct? thanks
-
yeah, many thanks! i will follow this guide in order to configure it! I have also found this video: I think that with this I will configure Demuls in Launchbox

Ah ok! Yes I have a good pc. This one: CPU:Intel 1150 i5-4690K M.B.:GIGABYTE Z97MX-Gaming5 VGA:Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4.0GB G1 GAMING RAM:ARES 2x4GB DDR3-2133 SDD:SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB HDD:SEAGATE 3.5" 3000GB ST3000DM001 Barraud Diss:Thermalright HR-02 MACHO REV.B Ali:Thermaltake Paris 650W ATX 80+Gold SO:WS 7 ULT.SP1 64BIT Do you confirm that the latest version of NullDC is 1.0.4? I found 2 versions: nullDC SVN r150 or nullDC vs2013-fix Git (2015/09/18) And the Demul latest version is this: DEmul x86 v0.7 Alpha BUILD 180816 DO you know if both emulators support .iso and .cdi file? In your opinion which is the best of the 2? Which is the emulator with better filters and so on? many thankS

hi guys i would like to configure the Dreamcast emulator in Retroarch and then use it with Launchbox. Do you know if there is a video tutorial in order to configure it properly? Is it a good emulator with filters and options in order to have a similar crt tv effect ad other emulators as bsnes or FBA Arcade? thanks!

many thanks guys!

ah! so now when there is an update i can udate launchbox automatically?! Good to know! thanks! And which is the right procedure to update Launchbox/Big Box? Every time it will be released a new version i will download the full pack and then...? How can update it correctly without loosing my settings? I have the .xml file for my forever-update licence of Big Box: if i'm not wrong i have to put it in the installation folder of Launchbox in order to activate Big Box and in order to have permanent update, am I right?

thanks! And after the installation/configuration of Launchbox/Big Box, when I will update it, which is the right procedure in order to don't loose all my settings and so on?
-
well it is the first time I configure retroarch, but for sure i will have only one installation in the same folder. I think that when i will update retroarch I will overwrite everything in my current Retroarch folder (or delete it and unzip the new pack) and keep saved only few folders (config, and something else, i don't remember now very well which folders I have to save from my current version) So, if I will maintain the same root of Retroarch emulator, I don't need to change anything in Launchbox, yeah!
-
yes this is the 1st video a linked above ok i will start with this one. Is it exmplained how to link Retroarch and Launchbox? When i will update the emulator of Retroarch, do you know if they will be automatically updated in Launchbox? theanks
