  1. thank you. Yes, you are right, the controller setting wors exactly as you described. It is clear. Speaking about Per Core config: i set this option = ON and now my Config options in retroarch.cfg are: http://it.tinypic.com/r/11u9r3m/9 Then: 1) I loaded bsnes_accuracy core, I set Video filter = Blarg_NTSC_SNES_RGB and then I push Save New Config. Retroarch creates the bsnes_accuracy_libretro.cfg file 2) I loaded fbalpha_libretro core, I set Video filter = 2xSal and then I push Save New Config. Retroarch creates the fbalpha_libretro.cfg file Now, this is my folder: http://it.tinypic.com/r/6glrwy/9 Now, if I enter in retroarch, and i Load Snes emulator, Retroarch doesn't automatically load the .cfg file of the system. So, i try to load it manually (Load Configuration --> bsnes_accuracy_libretro.cfg), but if i do it, Retroarch creashes! Same thing if I try to load the Fba emulator: when i try to load manually its .cfg file, Retroarch crashes I don't know why, i'm trying to do a lot of test..
  2. yeah! the roms work correctly! I have changed the filter, using now for example Super2xSal (in any case i'm downloading the newest romset of FB Alpha 0.2.97.38). I'm really satisfied! Many thanks guys! So, now it is sure that if I need different video filter (or shaders) for different emulator, and in addition different control mapping for different emulator, it is necessary to have different .cfg files. Well, i have to find the easiest way in order to have different configurations. If I save different .cfg files, every time that i load a core, i need to load manually its .cfg files. For example, now I create a default retroarch.cfg file, with my default settings (control mapping for the XMB, video filter, shader, resolutions). Well, I have 2 emualtors now (and i will new emulators in the next days) and for sure: 1) bsnes_accuracy core has its own video filter = Blarg_NTSC_SNES_RGB and control mapping (under Quick menu of the emulator). So, i will push SAVE NEW CONFIG and Retroarch creates a bsnes_accuracy_libretro.cfg file. I put this file in config\bsnes_accuracy folder. Every time that I want to use this core, I load the core and then i have to load manually its own .cfg file. Am I right? And can i create only a bsnes_accuracy_libretro.cfg file that includes also control mapping? I'm searching in the file, but i don't find the rows of the mapping of this emulator...is it necessary to save, in addition, a bsnes.rmp file for the control mapping? Oh my god...2 files for every core..? 2) fbalpha_libretro core has its own video filter = Super2xSal and control mapping: but for this core it isn't available in the Quick menu of the core. Why? does it means that for this core I can't set its own control mapping, if different from the global mapping of the XMB?? And, every time that I need to modify a global parameter in Retroarch.cfg, I have to load Retroarch.cfg, modify that parameter, and save this new version of Retroarch.cfg. Then, I have to create again, manually, every cfg file of every core. it is heavy...:( thanks!
  3. Yes, i'm using Blarg_NTSC_SNES_RGB because it is the unique RGB filter. And the RGB signal usually is the better choice in order to emulate crt. Am i wrong?
  4. ok I downloaded both the cores: 1) fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro.dll.zip --> Arcade (FB Alpha 2012 Neo Geo) 2) fbalpha_libretro.dll.zip --> Arcade (FB Alpha) I have used same roms and neogeo bios that i currently have in my FBA 0.2.97.29 and now I have followed exacly these steps (from http://www.powerup.io/gaming/emulators/retroarch): Main Menu → Add Content Scan Directory → Scan This Directory (Checksums must match or games won't appear) Go back to Home Screen Settings → Playlists → Set each Playlist's Default Core In the Main Menu you will now see a Playlist for each console. And now i added 2 systems (FBA with those 2 cores and Super Nes with bsnes_accuracy) and they are available and I can see their icon and playlist!!!!! Unfortunately some neogeo games don't work (retroarch creashes) and others work but there is the right side of the screen completly black! See this picture: http://it.tinypic.com/r/28h0jm0/9 So, i'm dowloading the complete FBA 0.2.97.38 romset (it is the newest) and then I will use fbalpha_libretro.dll.zip --> Arcade (FB Alpha) that it is too v.0.2.97.38: i think that with the new romset i will be able to play correctly...i hope Or do you think that i have to modifiy something in the video options (I have default settings now) thanks!
  5. ok, i will try with my neo geo romset from FBA 0.2.97.29 (in Retroarch there is 0.2.97.30 so i think that it is ok) Now i create a new retroarch installation. After the first Core Updater, i have these 3 core that probably could be used for Neo geo: fbalpha2012_libretro.dll.zip, fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro.dll.zip, fbalpha_libretro.dll.zip I think that the 2nd is the specific fba for Neo Geo (indeed. after the Update Core info File, its name is FBA Alpha 2012 (neo Geo) ) I put neogeo.zip file in the same folder where i put the roms (not in "system"). Now i'm dowloading and updating everything (core, databases, core info, assets, shaders...) and i will create a backup Retroarch folder, cleaned so I can use it if i have try again with some experiments I hope that with fba roms it will works...i will keep you updated!
  6. ah ok! but in any case, it is impossible to run Neo geo emulator on Retroarch I added NES emulator (Nestopia), I uploaded core info and database and then i pushed Load content --> Select file or Select file and Detect core (if i choose select froma collection, it is available ONLY the Super Nintendo collection, even if i try to add a new collection scanning the nes rom folder...) and the games work correctly in both ways.If i run FBA and i try to run every rom (i tried both neo geo roms from MAME and Neo Rage X) Retroarch crashes... The roms have they original name (aof.zip, fatfursp.zip and so on). I don't know where is the problem So i have created a new installation of Retroarch and I downloaded a new core list: unusually the Neo geo core that i used in the previous version of FBA, named Neo Geo (FB Alpha) is disabbeared! So now i select a different core, named FBA Alpha 2012 (neo Geo). Then I updated databases and Core info as usual, then i pushed Load content --> Select File and detect Core (or Select file) and then i select some roms and then Load Archive with Core but again, retroarch crashes... I don't know where is the problem, I'm sure that roms are good because i use them in MAME and Neo Rage X...thank you!
  7. thanks! Well, I still have the same problem, I can't use any other emulator, i can use only super nintendo. After loading the FB Alpha core, I push Load Content --> Select File And Detect Core and then Add Content -->Scan directory. After that, it shows the 2 roms and the neogeo.zip bios. But I'm not able to see the Neo Geo emulator icon with its romlist in Xbar of Retroarch...I mean as the Super Nitendo emulator does (there is a joypad icon with the 3 roms in the list). I don't know why. I'm not able to play with a different emulator now, i can only use Super Nes...See this picture: after loading the core i continue to see Super Nes emulator http://it.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=29c8mt0&s=9 thanks!
  8. ah yes ok. There is also the value "Core provided" and 4:3, if I choose them, i can set 1920 and 1200 with Integer scale = ON, with black band , but it is acceptable ok and how can I solve the problem that i have if i try to change emulator (see my previous post with the image in attachment). And for NES, which is in your opinion the best emulator available in Retroarch? thanks
  9. ok thank you guys! but it is very strange: Now i set again Integer scaling = ON but i'm not longer able to set Width = 1920!? I have 1742 and then directly 2048! Why? I continue to have same problem: i'm not able to load neo geo emulator. As you see in my picture, the core is loaded, but i continue to see SNES rom list... http://it.tinypic.com/r/29c8mt0/9
  10. sorry guys, i have 2 or 3 questions about Retroarch, i'm configuring it before to start with launchbox. I have configured my frst emualtor, SNES (bsnes_accuracy) and it works. I selected RGB filter ( Blarg_NTSC_SNES_RGB it seems that it is the only RGB filter) because i think it is the best in order to emulate crt and shader = crt-royale-kurozumi.cgp (i don't know differences between cg and glsl shaders) because i read that it is the shader more similar to crt Sony. Well, i have some questions, can you help me please? 1) How I have to modify Custom viewport Width and Height from default values (960 and 720) to 1920 and 1080 respectively? I see that the value Height = 1080 isn't available...but my lcd is a fullhd monitor 1920*1080 so how can I set up it correctly? Now i set Width = 1920 and Height =1200... but i don't know if it is correct... 2) I added a new core, FB Alpha for Neo Geo. I followed these steps: A) Core Updater --> Added FB Alpha Neo Geo B) Then Update Databases and Upate Core Info Files C) Finally Load Content à Select File And Detect Core and Add Content -->Scan directory. But when I push Load Core and i select Neo Geo (FBA Alpha), it doesn't appear the icons at the end of the Xbar and I continue to see the icon of Snes' joypad with its romlist. But now if i try to load a snes rom, retroarch creashes probably because there is the neo geo core loaded... how can i solve this issue? many thansk!
  11. ah ok thanks, very good! So i can rename roms as I want, for example deleting the Area USA/JAP/EU and other stuff thanks!
  12. Ah ok, thanks anyone else can confirm if Emumovies needs that the rom name is specific or not? I would like to download videos from emumovies because with platinum account i can download them in HQ and i don't know if downloadind them directly from retroarch database they are in HQ or not...
  13. hi, i'm starting to configure Retroarch and then i will continue with Launchbox/Big box Well, a simple question about rom's name: is it necessary that the rom name remains the same that the roms have when i download them? Or can I change it for example from Actraiser(USA).zip to Actraiser.zip? If i change the name to the roms, then i'm able to download automatically from launchbox database and form Emumovies (i have premium account for HQ videos) or can I have problems? thanks
  14. ah ok ok, i still have neogeobios.zip file for MAME or neo rage x, I think that it is the same file :)
  15. ah ok! thanks! probably bios is needed for Neo Geo too? is there a webpage where I can find the right bios version for Retroarch emulator?
  16. ah ok guyes. starting from next friday i will be on holiday so I have time to play/set up Launch Box/Retroarch!! :) Probably i will buy the premium edition (permanent) with Big Box, it seems really cool! thanks, i will keep you updated!
  17. ah ok! thank you. The 1.3.7 version is coming, so I will wait this stable version to start with Retroarch :) Speaking about Launch Box/Big Box, I still have a platinum subscription for both HyperBase/Emumovies websites in order to download automatically (with Hypersync) snapshot, flyers, titles, movies and so on for HyperSping/ROchetLauncher. I read that with LaunchBox it is possibile to download automatically files form Emumovies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZaLgqtm4Mk&list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB Is it possible to download automatically snapshot, titles, cartridge and so on too from HyperBase? Of I have to download them manually and then copy/paste them in the folders for LaunchBox? thank you!
  18. Ah ok.. 1) but do you mean that in some cases when launchbox is updated, i have to configure it again from the beginning and i have to configure again all my fovourite sittings?!?! 2) ok, retroarch has inside the core of every emulator. Is it able to automatically detect when a new version is available or i have to check every time, for every emulator, if there is a new version of the core? If it i have to check for every emulator, do you know the website where i can find the new version of the cores? Does it exist? Thanks
  19. Ah really? Good to know,so i will set up retroarch direcly so i will use it for neo geo too! I still have 2 questions: 1) after dowloading Launchbox/bigBox and afrer the set up, when i need to update them with the new version, can i simply replace the old .exe file with the new one? In this way i can save all my settings? 2) same question for retroarch:after the set up of retroarch and the emulators, when it is necessary to update retroarch and the core of every emulator, i hope that there is a simply way to update it automatically avoiding to update every core manually..am i right? Thank you
  20. Ok i have Mame 0.175full set and FBA 0.2.97.29 (i don't know if it is the latest release..). I have some quick questions: 1) FBA is included in retroarch or i have to use it as a separate emulator for neo geo? 2) in FBA there are a lot of video options.do you have a preferred set that you can suggest (via PM if you prefer). For example which is your SoftFX algortim? I use for example 2xSal with scanlines =125. But i don't know which is the best effect in order to emulate neo geo crt grapghic on a lcd monitor Thanks!
  21. Ah ok! For neo geo the best emulator still is neo rage x? I currently use it. Ok i will try to config one emulator for retroarch (nes or super nes) and i will use it with launch box, so i can see if it is not so hard to config it. Thanks
  22. Thank you. Well,I already use emulators,so i'm not a noob :) I think that retroarch is a "big" emulator that use other emulators for every sistem,am i right? For example it uses Fceu (or nestopia?) for Nes and so on. retroarch isn't an emulator itself, it is linked with other emulators if l'm not wrong. I saw some videos and it seems that it is in this way... Do you suggest a particular video to start with Launch box, in order to understand how it works and how to config it? Thanks!
  23. Hi! I have finally downloaded for the first time Launch box, 6.7 version and I think I will buy the premium version, I want Big Box :) I have a question: which is the best tutorial for a beginner? I have to start so I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WC4NieHGwbo&index=13&list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB I have a lot of emulators, but not Retroarch: do you suggest to set up Retroarch with Launch box or do you think that it is easier to set up the normal emulators that I already have? thank you!
  24. thank you I see here https://www.launchbox-app.com/premium in the screenshot that it is possible for example to see a desktop theme for every game (Donkey Kong for Wii, or Far Cry or Gran theft Auto V) !?!?Like in Hyperspin/Rocketlauncher?! Well, I will configure and try the free version in order to understand how it works and where it is different from the Premium: so I can decide if I want to buy a forever licence for the Premium version :)
