  1. sorry, i'm using the MAMEUI, with regula mame romlist. But unfortunately i don't know how to configure a console that i can use with mame UI...i haven't understood where i have to add the emulator and where i have to save its games...
  2. mmm...it is very good because i really like MAME and its filters and interface but...i'm sorry, i'm not able to configure additional platforms on it...is there a tutorial in order to to it? I know that now MESS is embedded in MAME so with only one emulator i can emulate not only arcade games but consoles too. Can you help me in order to configure the neo geo cd emulator? After that, where I have to put its games? thanks!
  3. Hi, i'm using the updated MAME UI v.201, with special hlsl set up, in order to perfectly emulate Neo Geo games. But which is the best emualtor for Neo Geo CD? I would like to try some games for this console, is there a good tutorial that i can follow? thanks!
  4. hi i have a qustion about Dreamcast emulators. My Dreamcast game folder contains 2 different games format: .cdi images and folder format (with .gdi file). Every .gdi format game has its won folder where there are the .gdi file and the others files. In this way: https://s33.postimg.cc/savcsdlu7/Immagine.png and for example this is the gdi folder of the 1st game of my list: https://s33.postimg.cc/lkeviz8z3/Immagine2.png Do you know if it is possible with launchbox and Dreamcast Emulators (like Demul or Redream) to automatically load in Launchbox/Bigbox both the games format .cdi and folder format? Or launchbox is only able to detect only one type of games image and so i have to convert every game in the same format? thanks!
  5. ah ok perfect! I will download the video themes when i will import the games in Launchbox, good!
  6. i mean files like snapshot, artwork, cover, manuals, and so on. I want in addition the extra that you can see in this video, starting from minute 3:00: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TudTxTlI5SI&t=206s
  7. perfect. So for video it's Ok, i will download automatically from emumovies directly from Launchbox the HQ quality. And what about the others extra-files automatically downloaded from launchbox/bigbox? Which is the website uses by bigbox for extra-files? In any casei f I want to substitute them with hyperspin-fe extra files, i can do it
  8. correct, i have a permament big box licence. So, if i enter my emumovies username/password i will automatically download HQ video from emumovies website?
  9. ok, i think that at the beginning i will install launchbox and all the gmaes, emulators and extra files in the same folder in the HDD drive. In this way I will can easily copy/paste my Launchbox folder from a pc to another (I'm planning to transfer my launchbox folder to my new mini-itx). I have a question: i have a Platinum subscription to Hypoerspin-fe and a Lifetime Subscription to Emumovies so i can download every files in HQ. Well, how can i downalod the HQ files (video, adn so on) for Launchbox? Is it able to automatically download HW video and HW extrafiles. Or is it necessary to download manually every file from the Hyperspin and Emumovies website...? I hope that i can download them automatically... thanks
  10. thank you guys 1) OK 2) ok, for sure i have another copy of my licence :) Ok, i will periodically perform a backup of my DATA folder 3) yep, i think that extra files (images and video) could take a lot of space even if i don't collect full set and i don't collect ALL the emulators... In order to have better performance is it necessary that games and emulators are in the same installation folder of launchbox? I mean: if i install launchbox in my SSD, can i have emualtors and games in the HDD? or if I do this, i will not have better performance? 4) OK 5) Yes i know the offical Launchbox channel, really good, every emulator is explained. But i'm at the beginning so i'm looking for a guide that explain in general how launchbox/bigbox work. After that i will see the specific video for the emualtors that i need. Can you suggest a video in particular that i can see in order to know how the frontend work? I don't find the Discord channel...
  11. hi all, i have bought the perpetual licence for Big Box and now i would like to install it. I have sole questions: 1) after the Launshbox installation, in order to activate big box licence it is only necessary to put the xml file in the launchbox installation folder? 2) after the installation/configuration of Launchbox/Big Box, when I will update it, which is the right procedure in order to don't lose all my settings and so on? 3) My pc has a SDD (161Gb free on 232 total) and HDD (2.36TB free on 2.72 total). Do you think that it is better to install the emulator on the SDD even if i have emulators and roms/games in the HDD? Can i have better performance or it is the same thing? I would like to download extra for all the games that i will download for every emulator, but i don't need fullset, i will download ONLy games that i like (for example 60/100 roms for 8-16 but Nintendo/Sega consoles, 50 games for pc engine/turbo grafx, and so on). I only have the MAME fullset updated (but without chd files). What do you suggest? 4) i would like to buy a mini-ITX in order to connect it to my fullHD tv and play BigBox directly on tv. Do you think that i can control biugbox directly with my wireless pad, without using the keyboard/mouse? I would like to use keyboard/mouse only to run at the beginning the BiugBox icon, but after that i hope that i can do everything with pad. Is it possible? 5) which is a new and clear guide that i can follow? I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNSP6VJpqM0 (by Eta Prime, released on june 2018) or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=gu7ODdyfEAc (by simply austin, but it is an old guide) or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IO7X0_Cgkgc&index=1&list=PL6pTDaHeAz-WMcNURVPU-1xLN_TVpT3FB ?? thank you!
  12. thanks! I found different options (Beelink o il Minix Neo U9-H for example) but they aren't able to run some emulator like Wii (Dolphin request a cpu with 4.0 o more Ghz)) or Wii U or PS2 with maximum effects. Only the Dell Alienware Alpha R2 can reach 3.6Ghz in turbo mode, it seems that currently is the best we can have in a tv box/mini pc. But it is not enough...and it is really expensive (about 1000 euro!). I think that i have to wait before to buy this device, currently the best choice is not enough powerful and too expensive thanks! EDIT: I found the Mini-ITX pc. With this mini pc it is possible to have really good performance and the price isn't so high. I have a question: currently i have configured my emulator in order to have the best filter options, graphic and so on in my fullhd lcd monitor 24" in my pc. Well, if i save all my emulators in the Mini-ITX connected to my tv lcd 46" fullhd, do you think that the graphic will be the same or will be worse because the screen is bigger?
  13. Hi guys do you konow if it is possibile to install and use Launchbox+emualtors on a special "smart pc" directly linked to an lcd tv? I would like to play with it on my 46" lcd instead of pc monitor (24"). I know that there is a smart pc like the MINIX NEO U9-H – 64-bit Octa Core Media Hub, really good but it is an Andoid system so i can't use LauchBox Do you know if it exist a similar product but like a pc with windows? thanks
  14. yes you are right. I think that i will keep hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp it has the best effect on my monitor. It is like a crt but without too many scanlies and the sprite definition is really good. crt-easymode.cgp is my 2nd preferredt shaders thank you!
  15. yeah it's work! i put the complete shaders_cg folder in a shader folder i have created in the root of the PuNes folder and now i'm able to load the shaders! Well, after some test, i think that the best shaders could be 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp but crt-aperture and crt-easymode.cgp are good in any case (they have more scanlines than 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp)
  16. did you create a Shader folder? I simpòly put the .cg (or .glsl) file in the root folder where it is present the .exe file of the PuNes...have i to create a Shader folder and then put there the shaders files?
  17. yes sure i use SDL version ( i tried the D3D9 version too) and in Rendering the OpenGL is enabled. But the glsl shaders cause the crash (ok you said that it is normal because not supported) and the cgp filters don't have any effect as I show you above...:( And as you see at the bottom in this picture, the message that appears everytime i load a .cg shader And same thing happens even if i Try the D3D9 version, same message at bottom of the screen if i try to load a .cg shader. thanks
  18. thanks. I tried 3 different glsl filters: crt-royale-kurozumi, crt-aperture and 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian but with all them PuNes crashes immediately...i don't know why..!? I tried the same 3 filters but .cgp and puNes doesn't crashes but the effect the 3 filters is always the same...and a message appears: "errors on shaders, use 'no filter'. But I have selected Shaders Effects =NO FILTERS so it is already ok! I don't know why it appears this message...
  19. Thanks. I downoaded the SDL version If so, i think that the best option in order to emulate a crt effect is the Shader = CRT Scanlines. I tried all the other Shader and filters but they aren't good for me. I currently playing with Nestopia in Retroarch with 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp shader and it is really really good! And with Nestopia stand-alone too, with this settings https://s9.postimg.org/vjgpkvven/Immagine.png and it is good. It seems that PuNes hasn't a so good video filter/shader.. Here the comparison between the 3 emulators: 1) Retroarch with Nestopia: https://s16.postimg.org/seixsjhcl/Immagine4.png 2) Nestopia: https://s12.postimg.org/56bbrstt9/Immagine3.png 3) PuNes with CRT Scanlines activated: https://s7.postimg.org/l0yhq6erf/Immagine6.png I tried to load the same shader that i'm using on Retroarch (2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp) but in PunNes the result is totally different: https://s1.postimg.org/44etrqewf/Immagine7.png So, with this filter enabled, I have enabled Interpolation too and this is the result: https://s2.postimg.org/dbjz6z5a1/Immagine8.png. But not good as Retroarch or Nestopia I tried to load crt-aperture,cgp too but the effect is identical to the 2 screenshot of the 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp, without Interpolation and with interpolation!!! I don't know why...it seems that PuNes doesìt detect the differences between the 2 shaders... can you help me? thanks!
  20. ok thanks. So if I want the SDL version i have to download and install SDL libraries, am I right? From here: https://www.libsdl.org/download-2.0.php I suppose i have to download the Rutime binaries for Windows 64 bit. Is it correct? Or the Source code? many thanks
  21. Thanks. Ther SDL version is better? Currently i have Reotrarch 1.4.0 but i see that 1.5.0 is already out and 1.5.1 is incoming. I don't know if PuNes it will be inclueded in the new Retroarch version... In any case, did you took the same shader "aperture" (in RetroArch\shaders\shaders_glsl\crt folder) and put it in PuNes folder? In Nestopia (v.148 in Retroarch) I use 2xbr-hybrid-crt-hyllian.cgp filter (in RetroArch\shaders\shaders_cg\cgp folder) and it is really good for Nestopia I think. I know aperture, it is good too.
  22. thanks! Now i asked in that forum wich is the difference between "win64 SDL" or "win64 D3D9" versions. I want to try PuNes. I tried Mesen but i didn't find any filters or shader in order to obrain the same crt effect like in Higan of Nestopia (i use it in Retroarch adn i find a good setting). In mesen i tried all the filters but none of them is like a crt effect
