based on the product being sold globally and $75 USD being a lot of money if you are from certain countries I don't think its fair to mock people for trying to use this awesome product even though they may not be able to afford to do so legally. At the same time I can't fault management for looking out for their financial well being and enforcing their licensing.

It wasn't a serious request, I was joking.

That being said, if you can afford a computer to run LaunchBox and a library of games for it, I don't think anyone has to starve their own children to afford a LaunchBox license.

Nevermind, let's get back to the thread.

@Shivas unfortunately this means that you were using a pirated or shared Launchbox license. You can fix this by buying a legitimate Launchbox license and replacing the pirated license in the Launchbox folder.

Do we have permission to mercilessly ridicule people like this when they come here?

    Come on...don't make me beg.

Just to clarify, you only need to purchase one license, and you can install it on as many machines as you own. The licenses that get banned for new versions are just the licenses that are distributed freely online.

Thanks Jason. I picked up two licenses to keep my conscience clear and to support development ?

Does this happen when you use it more than one device? I have my license on my Laptop, GPD Win, and soon to be ThinkCentre along with my Wife's Laptop. I just wanna know so that I don't have problems later on.

I've purchased 2 licenses for myself for the same reason. I've had the same one on two machines in the house at the same time (never swapped in the second license), and I've never experienced any problem.

  5. I seem to be running into a bug with 11.6.

When I do a bulk edit to 'Favorite' a batch of games (the last time only 6 titles), LB just hangs.

It doesn't crash, the game box images go transparent as though the bulk edit is in progress, but it doesn't complete. You can still X out of the application. Upon reload, the bulk edit seems to have stuck.

Weirdly it doesn't happen all the time, but it has occurred at least half of the times I have done a bulk edit (Favorite status) since yesterday.

Yeah thats true and seeing Mr. Do's artworks are scanned in there's hardly any color aberration and if there is it would be a minimal shift. I hope you'll share photo's of your build with us, I always love to see what people create :)

Will do. I honestly didn't know Mr. Do's artwork is created from original scans (I thought they were very accurate recreations).

In that case, I definitely have the closest color palette I'm going to find for a Ms. Pac-Man project. Thanks!

I think the color palette is correct to the real deal, to be sure you can collect multiple photos of the cab and see if they match up as well.

Thanks, I think it's the closest I'm going to get.

I've collected dozens of photos of the original cab and bezel for this project, but the camera flash always makes the blue and pink colors appear slightly different.

If i recall, when i installed the latest beta (11.1 it prompted me to download something called .net core) thats fine, i did. I will say though, there was like four different things on the linked page. How many clicked the wrong one?

Anything that is absolutely needed for the app to work, should be included in the download/installer.

I understand that you want to keep the install as small as you can Jason, but maybe either have better instructions, or just include the needed files.

I'm going to have to agree with neil9000 on this one. I'm a tech professional, and it still wasn't apparent to me which .Net package on the page I needed to install.

The LB application should install whatever is needed for the user.

  9. I made a simple Windows batch file to print the contents of a directory. I use it all the time to compare file lists when I pull from MAME sets, just to make sure I named the roms correctly and didn't miss any (some games have been renamed through the years).

You can right-click and look at the script yourself, but this is all it is:

    dir /b > _DirList.txt

If you stick this in your MAME / Arcade rom folder and run it, it spits out a text file listing the files. That's all I would need to compare yours to mine.

Thank you, I really appreciate it.

    _PrintDirectory.bat

  10. Hey Mr. Retrolust, at some point, would it be possible for you to post a list of the roms you're working from for this project?

The reason I ask is because I keep a curated "Best of" collection for MAME, and you have a good assortment here that I never included in my library.

If it's a hassle, no worries, but I would love to see your collection.

Is there a faster way to add these to Launchbox? Using a better naming convention maybe? So the files can just be dropped into the right media folder and they get picked up?

For instance, when you export files they are named "Clean Sweep-01", "Clean Sweep-02" etc. If these file names are based upon the rom file names when they were added, then i guess everyones would be different? I suppose then that this would never work for everyone and it would remain a manual process.

I'm not 100% positive, but typically using the No-Intro naming convention for the roms will pick them up in LB.

Maybe we can get someone else to confirm that.

Steam wrapper games are games that just launch as Steam games when you launch them. If not, we should have @C-Beats take a look to see what might be happening. I know Epic is having major issues though lately because of the amount of traffic, so it's entirely possible that their API is just busted right now (to be honest that's my hunch since we weren't running into these issues until recently when they put GTA V up for free).

It was just announced that GTA V has sold 130 million copies. I have to imagine the traffic on a relatively young gaming platform like Epic has been problematic in many ways.

Thanks bro :)Its an awesome game indeed, one of my favs as well! I have about 20 to 30 games to go to reach the 200 mark again, so I think in a few weeks for pack 3.

Sounds good. I like that you have the game filling most of the image. Other efforts are certainly nice as well, but they make the actual game too small in favor of showing more of the cabinet and other 'atmosphere'. Your work is a good mix of prioritizing a larger game screen, while still showing enough of the bezel and cabinet for the nostalgia.

Great stuff, thanks again for this project.
