I also got the same bug. One question: The software also introduced this problem to my already existing platforms, like Sony Playstation, Nintendo 64 etc. WHY is Lightspeed even touching these xml s? Edit: I found other bugs: the Custom Values like "Number of buttons" are not assigned as a custom value, they just are in the regular notes of the games. Also consolidating clones does not work, although I told Lightspeed to include clones.

I think the ultimate solution for romsets would be support for parent/child dat files. How the hell should launchbox know that Dragonball: La Legende Saien is the same game as Dragonball: Super Butouden 2 but in France... I personally won't use this feature at all and import games after sorting them out with a rom organizer via Parent/Child .dat's. For this to work the Launchbox DB would need to be perfect concerning alternative game titles.

Alternate dates need to be a thing. AND we should be able to specify what region the main title is (like we can also specifiy the region of ALL boxarts etc)

Hi guys, there is someone who is changing the release dates of NES titles from the correct NA date to the JAP date like there is no tomorrow... Could we have a disclaimer directly on the gamesdb somewhere that NA titles and release dates are the top priority right now (until we have region dependant release dates). Thanks Edit: The same thing happens for titles sometimes. We really need a warning/disclaimer for this kind of stuff.

We also need option to communicate with the people who submit changes. Right now there is someone who wants to delete the back image of a neogeo game. I have no idea why he wants to do this. And I cant ask him.

i personally respect all religions, as long the religious people tolerate all other religions too. i'm not an atheist, but neither a believer. there is no way to prove the existence of a god, or whether he/she/it doesn't exist. its a shame that there is so much religiously motivated violence around the world, the single thing that makes me dislike the very concept of it sometimes.

Of course the respective Platform xmls. Metadata wouldn't make ANY sense as you correctly put it.

I solved my problem, I am posting the solution in case anyone else has the same problem: The Launchbox database files are xml-files, as anyone here knows. I simply imported them into excel, and used the following formula for my region field: =IF(ISERROR(FIND("(USA)";A2)>0);IF(ISERROR(FIND("(Japan)";A2)>0);IF(ISERROR(FIND("(Europe)";A2)>0);"";"Europe");"Japan");"North America") I exported the file again as a regular xml, and everything works perfectly. Generally spoken, Excel is great for organizing your database and doing bulk edits like these. Wonder which games have a missing manual? Just let Excel sort your games by the manual-field, and you immediately see everything you want to see. I wonder why noone recommends Excel for these kinds of problems (I've seen many threads like "How can I filter games which have "xyz" missing"). Brad, I hope this tip can help the community in the future (or is it it already a recommended tool for this kind of stuff?). Thank you for your answer! First of all, the region field is not missing in the bulk wizard. But the thing is, I have JPN, EUR and USA games, and I do not have an option to bulk edit JUST the EUR games for example. A solution for this would be a custom filter for file names (so e.g. I could make a custom "USA" filter and get all the US-Region games, then bulk edit the region fild --> problem solved). I already made a Bitbucket request for said filter feature. Another question: When I re-add my games, will I loose all custom notes and other edits, or will they stay? Best Regards

Hi guys, I added some romsets BEFORE there was a region field, so now these romsets have an empty region field, while recently imported romsets have the region set according to the file name. How can I "rescan" or bulk edit the region field? Thanks in advance!
